Hoping to do Intel...if there are any openings while I'm there....with the current RIFs it is somewhat slim pickings...but I'm optimistic.
My daughter wanted to do Intel (Fort Huachuca) but got stuck on the TS clearance.
My only advice is to travel all you can. If I had it to do over again, I'd have chosen all overseas assignments.
Study Arabic. Work hard. Serve with honor. Thank you.
Thank you for your service.
May God Bless and Protect you. Enjoy yourself and stay safe.
Have you taken the language aptitude battery? The military in general (and the AF in particular) are always looking for linguists. Extremely demanding vocation--your tech school(s) are almost two years long--but it's a great ticket into the intel community. A fair number of our linguists serve on RC-135 recce aircraft, another great assignment. If you need more info, send me a private reply; I spent more than 16 years as an Air Force "spook."
There's ALWAYS room for intel in the Air Force...
If you can pass the 7-year background investigation.
If you are able to get an intel AFSC, I'll probably run into you sometime over at Ft. Meade.

Congratulations on joining the Air Force, and remember this, Air Force Basic Training won't be fun, but it's still easier than Army, Navy, and Marine Basic Training.
