I should think that Kennowick Man theory as presented in the book of that name is well centered in this article's premises. Did not the local scientist who did the first carbon 14 date sample extraction say that what we now call native American seems to be a gene pool less than six thousand years old?

Now I want to see the marker maps for Europe and the rest of the globe...and then we need to look at the mitichondrial DNA and see if some maternal patterns pop up.

M3 mentioned in the article is the most common Y-chromosome lineage in present Native Americans . It occurred in all the South America and most of the North American populations that were sampled. Wells gives M3 a date of less than 20,000 BP. Underhill gives it 20-30,000 BP

Whatever the date, the geneticists findings are that these populations are considerable older than 6,000 years.

Glad you're here. The basis for the study is the Replacement bias -- a cross between a master race theory and the Garden of Eden -- and genetic studies can't tell us much of anything about geographic origin. Regardless, it was our pleasure. :')

Now that I think about it further, he was speaking about when they (these genes/Indians) began to show-up in the Americas, not how old the genes are. (Ahem, that way we are both correct.)
