I just saw the video. I like the little "wink" of satisfaction, "job accomplished", that the President gives an onlooker after he drags the guy out of the fray.
I wish he wouldnt take such chances, the agent is there to protect him not for him to protect the agent ;)
But that shows the strength of character of the man.
But still he put himself in possible jeopardy.
Thanks, great pix!
Exactly. We don't know the whole story, maybe advance coordination was inadequate or maybe the word didn't get down to the security detail--nobody knows, but we should be glad the Chilean security is tight versus the other way around.
And what's James Carville doing down there?!?!?
"I don't use my salad fork improperly!! Tha Son of B*tch pushed me!"
Hey, after perusing your post, you can get your troll a** out of here.
C
BTW-STAY OUT or the kitty will get you. :-)
Gotta love this shot. I noticed in the earlier pics that our guy had his hand on the Chilean dude's collar. It's still there and the Chilean looks quite frightened. The other hand is sure as heck got a finger-crush hold on the uniformed guard. But this isn't even the SS that was trying to get in. That dude DOES look MiddleEastern, and not quite right. I would think it would be embarrassing to have to have your principal come and rescue you. Wonder if this is the same one who sued the airline for not letting him come on the plane with his sidearm after 9-11.
Oh, I think Kerry would have told the SS guy to get the hell out of there and then screwed his career.
Yeah, what Woofer said...
The likes of a Kerry or a Clinton would not even have acknowledged that the agent existed unless "that sonofabitch" had knocked them down!
I have a feeling that those "protecting" the Clintons see it as a job, those that covered Kerry are sighing in relief and those covering W and Co. see it as more of a calling.
Fox News guys said there has been a little bit of a "power play" between the Chilean security and Bush's entourage/security.
Evidently the President shows up with more security than some of the other leaders (well, duh) and the Chileans didn't want to let all the security in.
Whether that's true or not, I have no idea, just a conversation of Fox this AM.
From the pictures, the agents seem to have quite visible ID.
This incident helps support the idea that our President certainly is a practical guy, who steps in to solve problems and help people.
Maybe. But if it were a distraction for a possible assassination attempt, I would think the last thing they would have expected the president to do is go TOWARD the commotion.
Great Read...A Matter of Character.
The author contrasts what the employees inside the White House have to say about their bosses (the Presidents).
Guess who wins the popularity contest? (hint: it wasn't the Clintons).

Ummm.... AnonymousSierra isn't from around these parts. I think he meant the compliment sincerely.
I'm sorry libs but honestly, how can you not like this guy?
I'm assuming that the final pic is correct...the man standing slightly apart inside IS the USSS agent. His tie is silver/blue and he has a dark lanyard for his credentials.
The other guy in the "arm around the neck" picture has a yellow lanyard for his credentials. I'm thinking he's Chilean.
