Washington Whispers: "Alien Arnold" (Third party route to amending Constitution?)
US News&World Report ^ | Nov 20 04 | Washington Whispers

Alien Arnold California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a plan for the future. Friends say the Austrian-born actor is looking for an "entity" to help him push for changing the nativity provision of the U.S. Constitution so he can run for president. Two ideas are under study. One is to work with Congress to change the law barring foreign-born American citizens from becoming president, then to sell it to states. Another is bolder and riskier: creating a third party to push his idea, a move that may lose him Republican support.

Is that idea written on letterhead from Hillary Rodham Clinton's office?

Formula for unelectable Northeastern (or Arkansas) liberal:

-convince a third party spoiler to enter the race
-use that third party spoiler to draw off the votes of "disaffected" or "moderate" Republicans
-pander to the Democratic base, and call up the LA Times to revive the "Gropenator" investigations (to keep Ah-nold from actually winning)
-win the election with 43% of the vote

been there.. done that.. twice (well.. 49% in 1996)

America has almost 300 million native-born citizens. If we can't find competent leaders from among such a throng, we're in deeper trouble than a foreign-born leader could remedy.

Sorry, Arnold. Your ambitions are going to be thwarted.

Should the Constitution be amended to allow foreign-born persons to become president? Vote here.

My reaction: this is tantamount to the anti-Electoral College sentiments expressed by the Hillary Machine.

This constitutional amendment is going nowhere.
Go ahead and spend money on it Arnold, it'll boost the economy.
Just like Moveon and all those DUmmy's living on ramen who spent money on Kerry.

Meanwhile our southern border is like a sieve, and our educational system is fraught with multiculturalism, gender deviance, Marxism, environazism, and post-structuralism.

It's time for the party to set aside its toys and side show obsessions and face the enemy directly.

The United Nations. Who else would desire this move more than anyone, Arnold included? This is a UN backed run to change our constitution so that in effect they could disolve our sovereignty. This may sound conspiratory but don't put it past them.

Just because he has changed the CA Constitution, he isn't going to touch the United States Constitution.

This is all about getting the Constitution opened up so that it can be "gutted" thank God the Founding Fathers were smarter than the political scum that exist these days.

Sorry Ahhnold, gotta believe POTUS should be native born, but I'd be afraid somehow the über-libs would somehow elect Chirac, and I'm not willing to take that chance.

Unwarranted and unnecessary slander. Arnold may be a better American than most people realize, even though he's currently living in a "Blue State". Perhaps he'll somehow turn that around!

It's said that those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

I'd say the Ahhnold supporters need to take a long hard look at what happened to the last country that went out of its way to put an ethnic Austrian in power.

I doubt it. The man just championed bloating the already-burgeoning California deficit by another $6 BILLION dollars. And let's not forget that those billions will be spent sacrificing human embryos for medical research. Dr. Josef Mengele would be proud.

Turn California into a Red State? In a pig's eye. Arnold ain't nothing but a Kennedy with an 'R' by his name.
