Honor killings are unknown or rare in a number of Muslim countries.

They are common in a number of countries and cultures that are not Muslim.

For example, honor killings are frequent in Hispanic cultures.

Of course, they usually kill the seducer of their sister or daughter, rather than their own family member, which makes a whole lot more sense to me.

I served on the Grand Jury for several months in a large Texas City. The case I saw over and over again was Hispanic
incest/pedophile cases.

The difference is that Hispanics can't use their faith to justify their behavior. Islam at the very least justifies it. In my view, it endorses it. I've never heard of a priest telling a father it was okay to stab his daughter because she started wearing lipstick.
