1. Alexander the Great was Alexander II of Macedonia. He was also 1/2 Epirote (his mother Olympia was an Epirote princess). Thus he was only 1/2 Greek.
2. Bisexuality seemed to run in the family. Alexander's father, Phillip II of Macedonia, was murdered by his homosexual lover, Pausanias. http://www.historyguide.org/ancient/lecture9b.html

3. Alexander's relationship with Hephaistion was close. When Hephaistion died, Alexander stayed by the body for days without eating. http://www.pothos.org/alexander.asp?paraID=42

Alexander was never Greek. The Greeks themselves at the time of Alexander did not consider Macedonians to be Greek. The Greeks adopted Macedonia as Greek only after Alexander's exploits. Yes the Macedonians adopted Greek language and cutoms but they were not Greek.

This is akin to claiming all semites are jews because jews are semites.

The Greeks of the time consider the Macedonians to be at best semi-Greek, and little better than Thracians.

Didn't Alexander himself run Hephaiston through with a spear following some argument, while in a drunken rage?

I've never heard of Alexander being bisexual. I have heard this same story in The Epic of Gilgamesh though. I wonder if Alexander and Gilgamesh are being confused, intentionally or not.
