Connect the dots, now

By Terence P. Jeffrey
Published November 20, 2004

"We should have secured the Mexican border."

That could be the pitiful lament we hear from negligent U.S. officials if al Qaeda pulls off an attack on the United States using weapons of mass destruction smuggled across our southern frontier.

Were that horrendous event to happen, leaders in the administration and Congress would be justly hit with the same question perhaps unjustly cast at them and their predecessors after the unprecedented September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: Why didn't they connect the dots?

This time, they will have no good answer. We have seen warning signs: Al Qaeda wants to hit the United States with weapons of mass destruction, and it sees the Mexican border as a weak flank in U.S. defenses against such an attack.

Time magazine reported this week that an Egyptian named Sharif al-Masri was captured in August in Pakistan. According to Time, al-Masri told interrogators al Qaeda has considered plans to "smuggle nuclear materials to Mexico, then operatives would carry material into the U.S."

Answering my inquiries about Time's report, a U.S. government official who described al-Masri as "a middle man" said the Egyptian's conversations with al Qaeda operatives occurred well before his August arrest, perhaps as much as a year or more ago. It was not clear, the official said, that al Qaeda operatives who spoke with al-Masri actually had any weapons of mass destruction, or even that they were talking in particular about nuclear material, as opposed to chemical or biological weapons.

The Republicratic party(s) has no intention of sealing the border with Mexico- only with encouraging more illegals to come over.

Aside from the continuous hemorrhage, aside from the terrorist and criminal threats, aside from the cultural balkanization, one of my fears is that a demagogue like Shrillary will get it and successfully use this issue to cynically ride to power.

They will never have enough power to do anything. They're worth a protest vote. I also beleive lobbying democrats and republicans will get very limited results. We need to use our power of petition to get anti-immigration propositions on the ballots.

Once the IslamoNazi's hook up with groups like the Mexican Mafia things are going to get nasty.

All the Moslems have to do is push a little money to the gangs and show them how to use MANPAD's and things get very very bad quickly.

It won't be some Middle Eastern guy that will be scaring the crap out of people. Imagine that the slime doing the murder are Hispanic. Not a good thing.

If Hitlary spearheads the initiative to secure and manage the border, then she would easily win the presidency. If it goes down that way, our party deserves to lose for turning their backs on the people that put them into power. But she would have to be the face of change, and I doubt she would risk alienating her base of illegal aliens :p.

We need to start getting proactive and get anti-immigration initiatives on the ballots next election cycle.

They will if people who belive the same way band together instead of writing it off as impossible.

Petitions will do nothing. Judges will just through out the results, as they did with Proposition 187 in California. We need legislators who will seal the border and impeach judges who won't uphold the Constitution.

We can't afford a third party in 2008. Too important to defeat Hillary. She and Bill will count on our discontent to encourage another friend of theirs (like Perot) to run on a third party ticket to cut the total going to the Republican Party. She KNOWS that she tops at a max of 45% of the vote.

There will always be another liberal demo boogyman out there to scare conservatives into voting for RINOs who urinate on their faces after the election. No more for me. "President Hillary" would destroy the democratic party becasue she is so inept and unlikable. She would never get her agenda passed. The GOP might actually stop her socialism- instead of backing socialism from a Republican like they do now.

It is absurd to tell me that I should not work for a true conservative party in 04 because of what MIGHT happen in 08. We even have on 06 cycle inbetween there.

I'll tell you what we can't afford, we can't afford any more Republicrat big-spending open border socialism. We now owe $25,000 PER PERSON in national debt. And still they spend more.

No sir, we literally CANNOT AFFORD even 4 more years of what we have now.

The threat of terror means more willing participants to support our drive for a world order. FTAA will eliminate borders as soon as the Republicrats get it approved. You don't want to spoil the elitists power play with a little national spirit do you?
