Which is, we will never be able to pay back Rush Limbaugh. Can you ever thank someone enough for saving your country? He WAS a "voice in the wilderness," as he calls himself, when he first started. Now there are dozens of nationally syndicated CONSERVATIVE radio talk show hosts. Virtually every region has its share of regional conservative radio talk show hosts. Yeah, from sea to shining sea.

He took one of the oldest mass medias, radio, and made it part of the new media. He made it the leader of the new media. Along comes the net, Fox News, and the blogosphere, and we are in the midst of an information dissemination revolution that has taken the power away from the old media. NY Times and company keep flailing, but their partisan biases are countered by the new media in SECONDS.

Imagine, if you will, a world in which there were NO countervailing force to the big three networks, and the big three or four newspapers. Exactly: WE would be in the wilderness. They were a monolith that controlled how the majority of Americans think, act--and vote.

We came through. Thank Rush. Thank God.

I agree. Man of the Year.

Rush Limbaugh's talent is on loan from G-d. However, he was the one who had to hone it and against all obstacles use it.

I don't know if he knew he was saving the country.

I am sorry he has always been and continues to be in the crossfire for his creation and advancement of the New Media, but his sacrifices have been for our gain and the gain of the United States of America.

Thanks, Rush. We can't repay you.

Hope you are enjoying yourself. Please keep it up; we still need you.

Happy to take any opportunity given to congratulate Rush and thank him for his dedication to his viewers and our country. I first heard of him when listening to a talk show in NC and a liberal democrat caller was calling for him to be banished from the airwaves. He hadn't been on long and the station manager said he personally did not like Rush but business was business and he was staying put. I listened to find out what the commotion was all about and have been a fan for years now.

Well said.

I definitely agree. Reagan was the real beginning of the Revolution but, after him, Rush Limbaugh gets as much credit as anyone.

I think we should also thank Jim and John Robertson for all their work -- I don't know where I'd be without FR.

I started listening to Rush after I met my then boyfriend, now husband. I was a liberal, the boyfriend conservative. He saw a potential in me and thought Rush would be a worthy source to change my way of thinking. 11 years later, I'm now the more conservative one and just asked for Rush 24/7 for Christmas. Thank you Rush for saving me from the bowels of liberalism! May God continue to bless you!

Have We Thanked Rush Limbaugh For Saving America?

Now that's a stretch...Limbaugh saving America? give me a stinking brake!

While I do acknowledge his input/contribution to the Kerry's defeat/W's win in the race for the presidents office, I will not bow to Limbaugh's altar of self aggrandizing.

...after 15+ Years of defending the Republican cause, I think you do have the Bragging rights to gloat about it, when your Party wins and wins BIG!

Ditto!

I don't know how Rush does it every day, but he keeps me thoroughly informed and entertained.

IMHO, he is one of the Best Radio Personalities of our Time.

He's like an old friend. I talk to others as though I personally know him. He has given us much and asked really nothing in return.

I vote Rush for Man of the Year!

There is no equal to Rush. He has been instrumental in guiding this country away from disaster. He belongs in the history books as much as any other national patriotic figure in this country.

I can vividly recall the street I was driving on when I first heard Rush on KFI when he began on that station. I had the impression from reading about him that he was an obnoxious blowhard, and I knew nothing else about him. I was used to people like Michael Jackson (the radio host, not the other one), and Rush was SO different.

It took a few times to "get" it, it was hard to figure out how to take him at first, but it became clear that we spoke the same language, only he was saying it out loud and spreading the word!

I had the pleasure of being a Section Leader on CIS when he had his own topic on the ISSUES forum, early 90's. He was gracious and friendly, and I have a great deal of respect for him. I don't think anyone can dispute that he forever changed the face of conservative politics in this country.
