Dear Rush,

You rock. You're all I listen to. I have months of your shows on cassette for listening to whenever I possibly can. I am a 24-7 member, and proud of it.
Your magnificent examples have taught me how to easily nuke liberal opponents with a single sentence.
It will be a sad day when you do retire. But that won't be happening soon because there's still a few who havent moved to Canada and France that don't agree with you yet.

You're an inspiration. You're a legend.

Thank you for being you, and for all that you do.

P.S. See ya in 2006. I'll be ready!

You're the only one that pointed this out, and yet Rush thanks all the time William f. Buckley and Barry Goldwater. They were the founding fathers of the new conservatives. Remember "extremism in defense of liberty is no vice." I was there when Goldwater said it.

It's amazing "how" God uses people. The fact that He picked someone who lost their job several times and was basically a nobody, trying to do talk radio and transforming him into the number 1 conservative talk show host in the country.

God obviously gets alot of credit too! :)

Like many have voiced in this forum, I simply can't listen to Sean's ranting and carnival-like hawking of his books and tours. He, like Rush, is preaching to the choir.

From a personal standpoint, Rush reinforced my conservative ideals from the 1980s that were becoming increasingly too moderate by the early 1990s. I also learned to question the Old Media like I had never done before. Entertainers or not, Rush, Sean and the rest have done their work on others like me or others who once were 100% on the Left. If you're a conservative and appreciate the liberals getting trounced more often than not lately, you have to respect that.

I've found Rush to be a strong supporter of the SA.

Reagan was the man who really made it happen
In fact in a very real sense Reagan made the EIB happen; before Reagan the FCC had the pernicious "Fairness Doctrine," putatively to keep broadcasting "fair and balanced."

It took courage to recognize and act on the fact that the "Fairness Doctrine" rigorously enforced Political Correctness in broadcasting. Polical Correctness is simply the perspective of journalism - the perspective of superficial second-guessing criticism of the productive.

First time I listened to Rush was in August of '88. I could not believe my ears...this guy was thinking like I was thinkin. I was not alone in a sea of liberals. Thank you Rush for changing the media and giving conservatives a long overdue voice. God bless America.

I listen to Rush everyday and many times he has put things in perspective for me when I got upset or worried about what the left was saying or doing. Rush has been a political mentor for me. I am still quite the novice at politics but I still feel he has taught me a lot. Those who do not listen mischaracterize him. Rush does speak tongue in cheek sometimes but it makes the point and he backs what he says with facts and audio clips not just here-say. Rush may be right of center but there is no comparison to the rejects on the left at such radio stations as AirHead America Radio.

GWB would really pi@# off the left by naming Rush his white house press sec. for about a year. Would that be fun to watch or what. You would not want to miss that. HaHaHa

I wholeheartedly agree. Of course Rush made it happen and Reagan's vision allowed it to happen.

Reagan's vision becomes more astounding every day.

It's probably a matter of age. For Freepers under 35, Rush may well have been their first exposure to a conservative voice with a significant audience. All we had was the print medium and, gradually, radio, until the internet became widely popular. National Review, American Spectator, and Accuracy in Media were my staples during the 70's and 80's.

As a diehard liberal I spent three hours a day listening to Rush over the summer when I was a beach gaurd because it was the only news show around.

I was already starting to doubt my beliefs, and (hopefully) would have found the truth anyway, but still, I am sure Rush helped me speed the process up.

thanks Rush!
