If the left-wing progressives can't understand why they lost the election, let them put a picture of Condoleezza Rice up on the wall and look at it very hard ("Calling Condoleezza," Editorial, Nov. 16).Now let them think about the way Rice has been depicted in the editorial pages, in cartoons and among editorialists.
Where are all the women's rights groups praising her accomplishments?
Where is the Rev. Al or Jessie with their adulation and praise?
I don't care what color or gender you are — this is one amazing person.
One would think that the radical movers and shakers of the 1960s — who then marched for civil rights and who are today's journalists and academics — would be tripping over each other to sing Rice's praises.
Instead they demonstrate their hypocrisy by publicly demeaning her.

So, the Democrats want to bash Rice at her confirmation hearings over Iraq?
After losing their minority leader and giving the GOP a 55-seat majority in the Senate, you'd think the Democratic Party would have learned its lesson.
If they continue to obstruct and bash Bush, they will be taught another lesson in 2006.
If the Democrats keep moving left, they'll have nowhere left to go.

The way this good and brilliant woman is being treated by those who claim to champion the causes of women and minorities is beyond astounding. Hope this wakes up a large voting block, but I have my doubts.
Unlike Martin Luther King Jr, Dr. Rice earned her title. Earning is a term lost on ol' Jesse and Fat Albert Sharpton.
With the bombings that summer came marauding groups of armed white vigilantes called “nightriders” who drove through black neighborhoods shooting and setting fires. Condi’s father and other neighborhood men guarded their streets at night to keep the nightriders away from their homes. Armed with shotguns, they formed night-long patrols. The memory of her father out on patrol forms Condi’s opposition to gun control today. Had those guns been registered, she argues, Bull Connor would have had a legal right to take them away, thereby removing one of the black community’s only means of defense. “I have a sort of pure Second Amendment view of the right to bear arms,” Condi said in 2001.
After years of hearing the democRat party LIE to America about how supportive it is of racially impartial opportunity, we know the truth. If there was ever a force that seeks to keep non-white, non-rich people down and out of power, it is the democRats. May they all roast in hell, only after being ejected from every elected office on the planet.

I hope Sec. of State Rice ignores the slime in the media and just does the great job President Bush expects her to do - When the other side fusses a bunch - you know we have a good person in place - in my opinion -
Thanks for the info on Dr. Rice's support of the 2nd Amendment. I had not heard this story. It is a supremely good argument against the gun-grabbing fools.
When a Conservative makes a comment deemed by the media to be negative toward a minority, it's racism.
When a liberal makes a comment that is blatantly racist, it's philisophical and thought prevoking.

What is the NAACP doing? Where is Jessie Jackson and Al Notso Sharp Ton when you need them. By their silence, they are condoning these racial attacks on Ms Rice.
