LOS ANGELES — A fight between two Jordan High School students Friday led to a blacks-Latinos brawl that police said may have involved up to 1,000 people, including some gang members who came on campus for the fracas.
The scrap, which reportedly began with two girls fighting, possibly over something that happened yesterday, began during the second lunch period, officials said. Nobody was seriously hurt.

They're saying 1000 involved on the 11:00 p.m. news.
How can that be. That boggles my mind.
It's bad enough that LA schools have barbed wire on top of chain link fences. What next? Armed security for every class? This is just one school. There are schools similar to Jordan all over LA County. Is there any wonder why California continues to be in deep financial straits?
What LAPD area went uncovered while police were sent to this school?
I am guessing none.

Doesn't surprise me about the tensions between West Indians and American blacks. There was a major brawl at the high school near my parents current home in Boca Raton between the Haitians and American Blacks.
Newark seems to be picking up -- many new homes and businesses have been or are in the process of being built around the University of Medicine and Dentistry campus. Of course, the new homes have bars on their first floor windows, but it is a start to entice middle-class homeowners into a redeveloped neighborhood.

Let's face it: diversity is NOT a source of strength; quite the contrary. Human beings (and animals) are by nature tribal and tribes are by nature territorial and competitive.

Am I supposed to break the code and conclude that illegal Mexicans were responsible for the brawl? And then make a financial contribution to this organization?
Doing the arithmetic from post #62's figures of 2,302 total students of which 0.1% are white, I deduce that there are probably two of them.
"There were racial fights going on in Newark when my dad was a kid and Jersey City where my mom was a kid. This is NOTHING NEW. They shut down the high school for nearly a week when my aunt was there due to racial violence and that was in 1970."
Isn't the difference that back then, we were in the middle of the heat of the 'civil rights movement?'
Errh, I thought that was circa 1959-1968.
