Hey Freeprs...What about a car sticker that says we support that particular Marine in hot water now." Give our Marine a Medal, not a hassel!"

Or something more like, "Support our troops, not the Media!" or " Support your troops, call off the Media Rats."

I put the sign on because I am a proud American, proud of our troops around the world. It is not a way of showing monitary support.

I support at least 4 groups sending packages or helping those returning injured, or helping the families of those who don't return.

I'll show my patriotism however it suits me, and you can too. That is called freedom of expression - get used to it Mr. Ayers.

I think it helps with the ribbons

I just hope those home on leave or not deployed see them and realize they have people who care about them

I also donate to the USO -- Warrior Fund and Christmas Gifts for Hospitalized Veterans etc etc

"I think I'll find a group that clearly supports the troops through care packages and write a check out directly to that organization"

What this twerp cannot fathom is that the folks with the "Support the Troops" stickers probably already HAVE sent care packages, or money to a group that does.

Some folks just like to complain.

Must really pi$$ the liberals off to realize that each ribbon represents a vote for W.

Ok, I'm not from the USA, and I live in Ireland which has a small military.

However, I have an Uncle who served overseas with the US army in the Congo, and the Lebanon.

One of my grandfathers fought in WWII.

One in WWI

While the care packages and everything would be fantastic for them.

I think THEY would have been elated to come home and see that people had tied that yellow ribbon for them, or cared for them, or acknowledged publicly their support for them.

Just my 2cents (and seeing as my cents are Euro cent, they probably don't count)

Cancel your newspaper subscription and donate the money you save to one of those organizations.

Then send this guy a letter telling him what you did.

I thought Libs were big into ribbons. Now that I know this one gets their lacy panties all in a wad, I'm going stick one on my truck. And my wife's SUV.

Each yellow ribbon (sold at local banks) in our town goes to support the Wounded Soldier's Fund. For example, it's helped to provide transportation/lodging for family members when their soldiers are at Walter Reed Hospital.

And another thing.

I frequently saw yellow ribbons on cars with W stickers on them.

I almost *never* saw them on cars with Kerry/Edwards stickers on them.

You know what the real problem this writer has with those stickers? That they're really stealth Bush bumper stickers. You'll never see the "support the troops" stickers on a liberal's car, that's for sure.

In particular, the yellow and red, white and blue ribbons sporting the phrases "Support Our Troops" and "Freedom Isn't Free" have become as common as taillights.

And you just hate that, don't you?

Too darn bad.
