SorryEverybody.com by Steve Pudlo Posted: November 19, 2004 Much pulling-of-hair-and-gnashing-of-teeth has been made of the recent US election results. Bloggers the world over are examining, cross-examining, dissecting and trying to figure out the how and why of the results. Some people have even gone so far as to apologize for the will of the majority of Americans who cast ballots on the 2nd of November.

Recently there have been several counter-apology sites springing up all around the world expressing pleasure in the election results and confidence in the president-re-elect.

Not wanting to feel le ft out, I feel that I too have a need to vent my feelings about this whole apology/anti-apology business. I wanted to leave my apology on the "sorryeverybody.com" web site,. But they seem to only take photos, and I ain't too photogenic, so here's my apology to the world:

I'm sorry -that we're a democracy that believes in equality where the lowest janitor has the same vote as the highest paid CEO. -that we are free to express our displeasure and frustration on more forums than anybody else in the world - even if we sound like spoiled brats whining for a "do-over" -that the world thinks that it is wrong for us to look after our own interests for once rather than subordinating them to those who want to do us harm -that the intellectual elites and their high falutin' yee-haws when bill clinton won with only 43% was greeted with more acceptance then GWB's 52% win in November. -that America has exported liberalism to the world, poisoning the minds of good people everywhere against us. -that America is the most successful society that the world has ever seen fueled by the power of a motivated people, and backed by the best fighting force in history. -that other nations have not been successful in emulating our success and because of that beleive that "sour grape-ing" makes them superior -that many more people from other nations flee to our shores that ours flee to yours, and that your people prosper over here and breathe free -that the election showed the will of the people despite all the best efforts of the powerful elites to control our minds and votes. -that the people of our great land can dissent without fear as opposed to other lands. -that I had the great fortune to have been born here, thanks to my forefathers who had the foresight and desire to come here from their native lands, and your forefathers didn't have what it took. -that I love my country, and that my country is worth of that love -that so many people only love their country when it votes their way.

-that if I want something I have only to work for it instead of waiting for some government flunkie to decide if I'm worthy -that my country is better than yours in just about every measurable standard -that many more of my forebearers have died for the sake of other nations' people than any other two nations combined, and we continue to do so. -that the world is a much safer place to be in by virtue of the efforts of America. And that other nations fail to see the great debt that they owe to us. -that you feel resentful about my success enough to hate me, but not enough to make your own success. -that the shining city upon the hill is populated by all kinds of people from all kinds of places -that only my society has proved that people from every corner of the world can achieve limitless success by working together regardless of color, creed, origin, or even political views, and that other nations cannot prove the same. -that my tax dollars feeds more people in more countries than anybody else's and that I also pay for more medical care, education, and sanitation than any other nation in the world, and that other so-called prosperous nations can only whine for more help whilst diss-ing the us. -that my country has stood up for human rights against terrorists and put our money where our mouth is while other countries have continued to use the "ostrich method" of dealing with terrorism. -that we believe in freedom and democracy, and liberty and that too few other nations do. -that your nation relies upon America for things like blue jeans, MacDonald's, KFC, Coca cola, Rock and Roll , Television, and all sorts of things that makes your life easier. That you feel forced to buy our stuff is a dern tootin' shame. So is the fact that you can't do better. -that we haven't got around to liberating you. Please be patient; we have to endure your insults first.
