We had a Route 69 in Centeral PA, but when it was widened, we renamed it to "The Hershey Highway".

It's good to see that Rep. Hostettler is working on a life-and-death issue. ::eye roll::

The main reason to change it is that it would save a fortune in signs. They keep getting stolen.

Let's let the gays own the language, shall we?

Always make sure you have a knee-jerk reaction to anything, even a number, that might have a dual meaning to people with dirty minds.

I am originally from Oklahoma (now in TN) and there is a Highway 69 that runs North-South through the entire state.

I would hate to think that they would try to change the name of it for some stupid reason.

Oh come on, one of the best stickers on my helmet is the "I69" sticker.... don't change the name... then it will merely be a sexuaully suggestive advertisment....

Hoosier Gazette articles are drawn from different sources and some are fictitious or satirical. The Hoosier Gazette uses invented names in some stories, except in cases where public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental. The reader should suspend belief for the sake of enjoyment.

I used to live in Indiana right by Highway 69. It was a popular thing among people who saw the sexual connection to steal highway signs for...I don't know, whatever they planned to do with them.

One year when I was a kid in our tiny town (well it was tiny then) of Fishers, Indiana (located at the junction of Hwy 37 and Hwy 69) someone decided to open a topless bar right in the middle of town. And guess what they called the place... Junction 69. It was closed down within 6 months. Ah, memories.
