KERRY FIT TO SUE 'UNFIT' AUTHOR

November 18, 2004 -- LIBERAL loser John Kerry might be planning to strike back at John O'Neill, the "Unfit for Command" author who claims some of the credit for Kerry's defeat, sources say.

In the book, published by Regnery not long before the election, O'Neill — who, like Kerry, commanded swift boats in Vietnam — attacked Kerry's war record and branded him a traitor.

O'Neill sold over 800,000 copies and his group, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, raised $25 million to battle the Kerry campaign and ran TV ads trashing the candidate. Former Sen. Bob Dole endorsed the group.

O'Neill says he wrote the book because Kerry called his fellow Vietnam vets monsters, terrorists and war criminals, for which he has never apologized.

Washington is a dreadful place for a sane and rational human being. Over time, most transplants either change significantly for the worse, sell themselves, or, in many instances break under the strain, and become totally ineffectual as leaders...opting to do the standard Tues-Thursday bit...and pr the heck out of their constituents.

I have lived in the MD suburbs for most of my life and I have been fortunate enough to meet some politicos that seemed pretty decent in a non work atmosphere. Jack Kemp, Dr. John Young, and even Chuck Robb seem to me to be pretty decent guys. On the other hand I have met even mid and low level guys that just are so full of themselves that over time I simply forget their names.

Regardless of how it really happened, I have an image in my mind of John O'Neill looking squarely into the beady eyes of John Kerry, shrugging his shoulders, and flippantly saying "So sue me," then sauntering away sniggering.

Excellent points, Founding Father.

Kerry's actions and threat of a lawsuit is very remiscent of John Dean's lawuits directed at G. Gordon Liddy.

Since Mr. O'Neill, like Liddy, has openly welcomed a day in court. I'm certain that so much dirt against Kerry will be un-earthed during discovery. That Kerry will back off. Run and hide. Yet try to claim "validation".
