KERRY FIT TO SUE 'UNFIT' AUTHOR

November 18, 2004 -- LIBERAL loser John Kerry might be planning to strike back at John O'Neill, the "Unfit for Command" author who claims some of the credit for Kerry's defeat, sources say.

In the book, published by Regnery not long before the election, O'Neill — who, like Kerry, commanded swift boats in Vietnam — attacked Kerry's war record and branded him a traitor.

O'Neill sold over 800,000 copies and his group, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, raised $25 million to battle the Kerry campaign and ran TV ads trashing the candidate. Former Sen. Bob Dole endorsed the group.

O'Neill says he wrote the book because Kerry called his fellow Vietnam vets monsters, terrorists and war criminals, for which he has never apologized.

Further into the article it becomes clear that it is not an actual suit, but rather, the illusion of the intention to sue, that is the objective of this press release.

There is no way that Kerry would sue O'Neill. He'd have to be a total idiot... Oh, wait....

(That is not to say Kerry doesn't have a meritorious claim in this matter, i.e., against the clintons and their operatives involved in the hostile, eleventh-hour takeover of his campaign.)

Now, "the Kerry camp is thinking about filing a libel lawsuit against Regnery and O'Neill," a source close to the candidate's inner circle tells PAGE SIX. "I don't know if they will actually go forward, but consideration is serious. If Kerry plans on running again in 2008 -- and I'm hearing he will -- it would make sense that he'd file the suit."

Kerry's rep, David Wade , said he hadn't heard about any proposed lawsuit, but promised to look into it.

This must be the stash RAT higherups are ticked off about. They're demanding to know what Kerry thinks he's doing, holding onto all that money.

kerry will never file libel action against O'Neill and Regnery. If he did, he would have to release his full military records and he won't do that ever.

I repeat -- there is no way kerry is going to file on this.

O'Neill...'just another lawyer in Houston'. Not in this universe. John O'Neill is one 800 pound gorilla...clerked for Scalia, I think. First in his lawschool class, too. Can't remember which school, but it has more stature than Kerry's law degree from B.C. (sorry, B.C.). O'Neill must be licking his chops. The truth is that Americans have the most generous of hearts. We, well, a few of us, would have forgiven Kerry if he'd apologized on the floor of the senate years ago. But this was impossible because in the words of David Horowitz...'Kerry has an extremely bad character'. We really did dodge a bullet this time.

Well, $45 mill. now in Kerry's sweaty hands. We all know why he married the present missus and the former Mrs. Kerry, why he did or does anything in life. Amusing that he's now robbing the RATs. Just wait 'til Hill hears about this!

Two reasons why Kerry will never do it: A) O'Neill has the best defense: the truth. B) Discovery.

And, IIRC, Mr. O'Neill has actually invited him to sue. Somehow, though, I think this is just bellicosity on the part of Kerry, as diclosure could prove to be yet another one of his many humiliations.

Kerry's loss can be traced directly to the Swiftboat Vet: they gutted him clean, and they gutted him early. Had he been a man of honor, he'd be in the White House right now, because more than a few of those Vets are probably dems, and chomping at the bit for a 'real combat' one of their own to man the helm.

"If Kerry sues O'Neill, I think O'Neill could subpoena and releas Kerry's military records."

Not only that. People who cannot (by law) speak freely now could be brought to testify as witnesses. The less-than-honorable discharge would be brought to light, along with the reasons for it. Everything in UFC would get rehashed in court and much more. The MSM would have to cover it. When it was all over, I doubt kerry could even be re-elected to his Senate seat.

I wonder if O'Neill could bait Kerry into actually going through with this. Publicly taunt him over it, etc. to the point that Kerry will get rattled and feel heat from supporters to defend himself.

I'm not sure the public wants to the Swifties continue to pursue Kerry, as long as he's somewhat magnanimous.

But this bluster re-opens a door that Kerry might find it hard to close.

Kerry doesn't have the balls. He's all talk, and even that's cowardly.

Kerry lost his balls in his marriage. Somebody else has them...

O'Neill and the swifties are the true heroes of this election. I could not put his book down...It cast Kerry in such a bad light that I knew he could not be President of this nation......

I too have a different take on this.

His inner circle has probably suggested that he sue O'Neil...based upon their "knowledge" of Kerry's exploits and "heroism" in Viet Nam.

Rather than pooh-pooh the notion, Kerry bluffs to sue...otherwise, by staying mute, he plants questions in his supporters.

You are correct! Any lawsuit will make his military record
become what lawyers refer to as, "discoverable"! As such,

he would have to sign a Form 180 so that his military records could be researched for evidence that may either support or be detrimental to his case.

Just as a liberal acquaintance of mine predicted. After the election Kerry would go after the Swiftvets. Perhaps they, too, have a little something in mind for post-election strategy.
