Metcash Shares Surge After Takeover Bid for Foodland (Update2)
Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Shares in Metcash Trading Ltd., Australia's biggest grocery wholesaler, had their biggest gain in 2 1/2 years amid optimism its A$846 million ($660 million) bid for the Australian business of Foodland Associated Ltd. will boost earnings.
