The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

"We should have secured the Mexican border."

That could be the pitiful lament we hear from negligent U.S. officials if Al Qaeda pulls off an attack on the United States using weapons of mass destruction smuggled across our southern frontier.

Were that horrendous event to happen, leaders in the administration and Congress would be justly hit with the same question that was perhaps unjustly cast at them and their predecessors after the unprecedented Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: Why didn't they connect the dots?

Yesterday's dollar's low was at $82.81, and this morning it continues to drop to $82.44. Gold is currently at $448.50.

The dollar is in free fall.

Before I get caught up in today I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to All here on TM. May this coming year be blessed with the same peace in our USA as we have been blessed with this past year.

As we have before, may we all travel through this coming year with health and an out stretched hand for those experiencing personal loss.

As I sit at the table with my family tomorrow, I will include all here in my silent prayers of thanks for family and friends far away.

re: Flu Shot.

I agree with you, crabbie. I've never had the shot, and don't ever plan to. My theory is that, in the normally healthy human body, an occasional stress to the immune system is necessary to keep it functioning properly and at max effectiveness. If your body never has to fight infection, I believe it eventually loses the ability to do so. Same goes for the over-emphasis on antibacterial soaps, lotions, potions, etc.

Normal handwashing/cleaning, good nutrition, proper rest, avoiding being around sick people, etc., have worked fairly well for me.

Cleric 'Had Jihad Notebook' (Ausralia - 11/24/04)

By Trudy Harris November 24, 2004 A LEADING Islamic cleric was discovered returning to Sydney with a 150-page notebook on tactics for warfare, intelligence and martyrdom, a court has been told.

ASIO translated Mansour Leghaei's notebook, which focuses on "infiltration, deception tactics, martyrdom and the euphoria of fighting a jihad outside one's borders".

Details of the notebook are contained in documents lodged in a Federal Court case brought by Sheik Leghaei to stop his deportation.

ASIO has twice assessed Sheik Leghaei, who runs an education centre and charity in suburban Sydney, as a risk to national security, leading to multiple visa cancellations......
