The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat

Connect these dots, now
Full Story
"We should have secured the Mexican border."

That could be the pitiful lament we hear from negligent U.S. officials if Al Qaeda pulls off an attack on the United States using weapons of mass destruction smuggled across our southern frontier.

Were that horrendous event to happen, leaders in the administration and Congress would be justly hit with the same question that was perhaps unjustly cast at them and their predecessors after the unprecedented Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: Why didn't they connect the dots?

I woke up in the middle of the night last night wondering what chaos would occur if OBL found his way into America's heartland and it was televised, as promised by them.

So, I'm not the only one tossing and turning at night.

As with scores of similar cases in the area this year, police could not immediately ascertain whether Muslim insurgents were responsible.

Hmmmm. Best guess, anyone?

It's awfully quite lately. Chatter and news seems to be on the low side...

And as with the ultralights, those are just the ones we know about.

Exactly.

I think that ultralights would be more difficult to get to a target then a Piper-cub (sp?). Ultralights would need a plane tow it up in the air plus thermals to take it to were it needs to go. It would be able to be seen by radar just like any other plane. What benefits would a ultralight have over any other aerial delivery system?

I hope that we are just stopping every deviant action before an infrastructure is in place for AQ to deliver their havoc.

Ultralights can actually take off on their own. You might be thinking of classic Elmira-type gliders. The ultralights are pretty much a tricycle gear, hang glider wings and a lawn mower engine with a deck chair strapped in if the operator wants a little comfort.

I exaggerate, but not too much.

Thanks for correcting me. This could be serious then!!! These ultralights can only carry a pilot, right? How much weight can they carry?

No windows obstructing the path of objects thrown from the ultralight craft.

crabbie I do recall that. I think that they said it was a false alarm. The ship was carrying something like lemons...or some type of fruit, which they said that because it had started to rot...caused fumes which set-off some type of indicators....yeah crazy!!

You are kindly welcome MD...in all the stories that I found on this young man, he did a great deal in his 29 years and was regarded very fondly by many people here and in Israel. In one of the articles, it talks about his father who is a doctor; making sure they find the cause behind his sons death. I hope for this families sake it is something benign, and not something more sinister.
