Poll Question:

In the DISTANT FUTURE if an anti-USA alliance of China, EU, and Russia emerges, and relations explode into a WW3- do you think USA could defeat this alliance? (This is assuming that in the 'distant future' the EU has a combined military--which is VERY likely to happen).

China, Russia and the EU (excluding France) are on our side now.

That means 3 or 4 superpowers all on the same side.

Without an ideology pushing any of these great states towards war, there will be nothing but greater and greater co-operation between the superpowers.

The only country with a real "ideology" is France, and that is an ideology opposing the use of English around the world and opposing the power and culture of the US. As such France is our only enemy among the superpowers left.

Perhaps the other superpowers will unite in WW III against the muslim world if it comes to that.

After that possibility which all the superpowers are trying to avoid by giving the US free reign to do what is needed in the Middle East (that has never really happened before you know), the next World War will be fought when the oil and natural gas starts to run out. In that case, the country with the most jet fuel and the rocket fuel will win (because the others won't have enough to win.)

It will of course, still be mutually assured destruction with nuclear weapons being the last resort weapon used by any of the losing sides.

So France and Islam are the only enemies left until about 50 years from now.

Not without Nukes.

Even without Nukes, we could beat them quite easily. It would not even be a fair fight. I am sick of hearing about how large the Chinese Army is, when they would only end up as shark food if they ever tried to get over to this hemisphere.

I just read Dr. Nemets' article at Newsmax. This is compelling, but he's making alot of assumptions. Poland, I think will remain close to the UK and US, as it did on the eve of WW2. I still maintain that a collapse of the leftwing parties in France and Germany could change everything in his model, those are crucial elections for alot of interests. We have a vested interest in Poland, and the Baltics who fear Russian intervention. It will be interesting to see if the EU is able to break up NATO, with the current and future leaders of its members.

Regarding Asia, Nemets left out Australia, our ally in SE Asia, along with Phillipines, possibly Thailand and Cambodia, could check Chinese expansion. Taiwan will be a standoff, and an unknown. Japan will remain a loyal ally.

Speaking of unknowns, as I write, the North Korean dictator could be under house arrest, and of course, when he finally goes, China and Russia will be maneuvering to be the king-makers. I think N Korea will fall soon, we must be ready to challenge Chinese influence. Recently, Russia and China settled their border dispute in the east.

Central Asia is an arena where the US has an advantage. Turkey, and their cousins in Azerbaijhan will remain our allies, and this will persuade their fellow Turks in the former Soviet "istans" to follow. The Russians hold the ethnic majority in Kazakistan, and I understand they wish to stay, due to a tolerant govt, and the oil wealth of the country. Iran may collapse soon, without a war. Pakistan will hopefully remain our ally, and our courting of India may pull them away from Russia.

It's an interesting possibility, but predictions like these are too alarmist. Too many countries, divisions, trade interests, etc. involved. A more realistic model would not produce a world war, but several positives and negative outcomes for the US. This is to "black and white" for me.

This sounds like one of those "Could Superman Beat The Hulk" imponderables that little kids pose to each other.

Oh, man. The hours we spent pondering such conundra!

What about Stretch Armstrong vs. the Six Million Dollar Man?

Discuss.

Captain America. No question.

But I did let my daughter watch the original Batman TV series last night.

Yes, I'd give the nod to Cap, too. One of my all-time favorites. :)

Did she like the Batman show? Which ep was it?

I would have to pick Batman. Especially if it's in Gotham. Cap couldn't hide in the dark to save his life with his outfit.

She LOVED it. I used to as well.

I don't know what the episode was; I was trying to go through some paperwork while she was watching.
It was a one-hour episode on Fox Movie Channel where the Penguin, Catwoman, the Joker and the Riddler were all on the Penguin's submarine.

Weird, wild stuff!

The EU would be, as we say in the engineering world, "Negative Work".

I actually have it on DVD. Fantasy of course. But one must remember that Stalin feared the US because there was a deer hunter behind every tree. He feared rural America. As well as America's vast pool of military trained people, i.e. veterans.

Most dictators fear an armed society. Hence, the young folks in RED DAWN were able to make a stand. Defeat the invader. Good triumphs over evil. Corny, but that's Hollywood.

Well, I should've known. It was on the Fox MOVIE Channel, after all. ;-)

Time for me to check some e-mails and go to bed. Later!

You would be much better off just reading Anatoly Golitsyn's two books...it's straight from the horses mouth sorta speak.

We could probably take the EU on horseback. We should build a bridge to Russia in order to save costs. And for China, we need to train all of our soldiers to act just like Curly Joe. "Look at the ground, look at the ground! Nyahk, nyahk, nyahk."
