"A machine recount is estimated to take a week, a hand recount a month or more."
Does state law require the result to be in by some predetermined date?
I have a very sensitive sensor in my tank. The alarm went on a couple of times, which is always fun when company is over.
Oh, no, what a thought.....5pm deadline ends the vote, with Gregoire ahead.....NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
oh c'mon, they're the forthright and honest "count every vote" party...
Except for GH came in after 5pm too...so that objection shoudnt get them far
I thought I heard that it had to be done by Dec 2nd (the final count.)
This is the link to the Benton County elections website:

They were supposed to have finished at 3PM this afternoon. It's now 1hr 20min past the certification deadline. This is RIDICULOUS!
Washington State Auditor's office
I've not seen provisional numbers. It would be interesting to have those numbers by county statewide (I'm sure the vast majority of them are in King (Seattle)
Ballots counted in Benton So far:
Rossi 44428 68%
Gregoire 19644 31%
SoS website says 750 ballots left to be counted -- which should go about 250-275 votes more for Rossi. But, other reports are that there may be only 250 ballots left, in which case Rossi only picks up abotu 85 votes.
ON 250 VOTES ROSSI MUST GET 52.8% OF VOTE TO WIN BY 1 VOTE
THAT WOULD REQUIRE A 15% DROP IN ROSSI CURRENT % TOTAL
come on Dino!
THANKS!
QUIT SHOUTING
IF ONLY 250 OUT IN BENTON & CURRENT % HOLDS
ROSSI BY 95 VOTES
IF 750 VOTES OUTSTANDING
ROSSI BY 272 VOTES
The Secretary of State must certify a final result by December 2.
There is a substantial question whether it will be physically possible for King County to complete a hand recount by that date.
It is about to be Florida 2000, Part Deux, in Washington State. God help us.
Provisional ballots in Pierce County were 9,203 out of 317,002 ballots voted (2.9%)
Believe me....I'll take that wind over the kind we had here this September.
