Good article, Meek. Thanks.

Thanks. My brother flew over 2,000 USMC recon missions from 1965 - 1968 out of DaNang, South Vietnam.
All volunteer with only time out for R&R and to heal from wounds.
Four Purple Hearts plus too many medals to mention.
God bless America's unsung heroes.

Hubby has over 13,000 hours of flight time. CFII and Examiner. No Purple Hearts (turned them down, unlike Kerry) but 2 DFCs and seven Bronze Stars.
Thank your bro for his service for me!

The Marine made the right call.
The person the Marine shot...was a terrorist. One who had already fired on, if not killed or wounded, American troops.
He was NOT protected by the Geneva Convention....and common sense dictates that a wounded animal (such as the terrorist) was dangerous...and deserved to be removed from the living.

On this like white on rice, Tonk! If the Libs go after the Marine, I want them to review and try in a general courts martial the documented case of Kerry's murder of a wounded, fleeing youth in VN. Shot in the back, as I recall.
Ping thanks.

AS HAS happened to our soldiers in Iraq "in a matter of seconds our soldier could have been blown to pieces".
Kevin Sites is a KNOWN anti war activist.
He has a POLITICAL agenda.
We know for a fact that dead bodies and injured insurgents have been used to blow up our troops and KILL them.
I stand by my statement. This troop did the right thing. PERIOD. This is war in Fallujah. Until you or anyone has walked in his shoes, we'd best not judge him.
The Geneva Convention does not address this situation. This reporter has done grievious harm to our troops and the new Government in Iraq. PERIOD!
The set back to Sunni's and Shiites trying to start a new country, a democratic country is enormous and horrific.

You mean Kevin Sites? Since you were replying to a post about my son on a submarine, it wasn't easy to solve your puzzle, but I did it. Do I win a prize?
I have no inside info on Sites getting fragged. Last I heard, he was not on my son's sub. Even if he was, I don't think anybody would be fragging him there. If I hear anything, I'll let you know.

A camera lens sure looks like the front of a sniper's scope in the heat of battle.
Put it right where the sun shines off.
(Hey, did you know how General Moshe Dayan got his eye patch? Right through the binoculars.)

BTTT, back to you...the only people that are vilifying the actions of this Marine are 1) the people that have never been in a kill or die situation. or 2) the people trying to further their Anti-America, Anti-Bush, Anti Military agenda...
The point they don't understand is that they have never had to worry about a "1)" situation because of men like this Marine...
