I heard the clip Rush played with this guy on Matthews show last night.
Matthews says "Suppose we were a good country, would bin Laden leave us alone?".
At least the CIA guy had the sense to say back to Matthews "WE ARE A GOOD COUNTRY".
He quit last Friday because the CIA wouldn't let him go on TV to promote his book.
Note he quit AFTER Goss got there.

One of the last proposals, which he described to the 9/11 Commission in a closed-door session, involved a cruise missile attack against a remote hunting camp in the Afghan desert, where bin Laden was believed to be socializing with members of the royal family from the United Arab Emirates.
Scheuer wanted to level the entire camp. "The world is lousy with Arab princes," says Scheuer. "And if we could have got Osama bin Laden, and saved at some point down the road 3,000 American lives, a few less Arab princes would have been OK in my book."
"You couldn't have done this without killing an Arab prince," asks Kroft. <
"Probably not. Sister Virginia used to say, 'You'll be known by the company you keep.' That if those princes were out there eating goat with Osama bin Laden, then maybe they were there for nefarious reasons. But nonetheless, they would have been the price of battle."
You'll notice 60 Minutes chose not to date this incident (though it is misleading to call it one of his last proposals...). the 9/11 Commission did.
Bill Clinton is the Abject Failure.
This Kroft guy looks and sounds like a product of the Clinton's fair and balanced CIA. Before we came to appreciate the importance of intel people were being hired and promoted for their political beliefs rather than their competency. Good to see these people finally throwing in the towel. Whatever this guys says I take with a huge grain of salt. He's a political officer not an intelligence officer. Just like Wes Clark and that Polish guy were political generals, not military generals. No way they get fast tracked if Bozo wasn't there to fast trach them.
He left last Friday after Goss wouldn't let him go on the lecture circuit; thinks he can do more "outside" than "inside."
