Marine Mosque Shooting Correspondent Kevin Sites Has "Art" Photos On Anti-War Site
November 17, 2004 | self

"Friends, photographers and artists ... were invited to give their visual statement against war." -imagesagainstwar.com NBC correspondent Kevin Sites, who reported on the Fallujah mosque shooting, has photographs displayed on "Images Against War", a web site devoted to "visual statement against war". A review of the site states, "Most of the great war photographers have been against war in general, and often against the particular wars they were photographing". Was Mr. Sites acting as a unbiased journalist in the mosque, or as a "artist" against war?

After looking at some of this Mr. Sites web pages, he is a Tokoyo Rose of the 21st Century.

I doubt if any of the Marines he is embedded with are aware of his anti-war agenda and how, IMHO, he is using them for propaganda purposes.

The USA Government needs to get this embedded OUT. I wonder what the background check on Mr. Sites was?

In anycase, he seems like a John Kerry Clone to me and needs to be stopped undermining our Troops.

"Nobody's asked a couple of important questions:
1. Why didn't Sites notify the Marines's command about the action and give the US Government a chance to investigate this incident before airing this video?

2. How did Al Jazeera get an uncut copy of this video? Did it come from Sites or NBC?

The answer is that Neither Sites nor NBC had any interest in supporting our government or the troops in the field. Even though they would clearly know that this type of scene would be damaging and inflammatory, they rushed to show it and to distribute that video to an enemy "news" agency.

This need to be investigated and if NBC has sponsored enemy propaganda, their FCC license to broadcast should be revoked."

The best comments I've seen. BUMP!

NOTE: Media lurkers, read this one!!!

Hey people ... let's not just tell each other that we do NOT share NBCs fake "outrage" over the great job our brave Marines are doing ... let's tell the Marines themselves the American PEOPLE are behind them regardless of what the American MEDIA are saying. You can leave a comment of support at the DoD website. And how can we let the Marines themselves know WE LOVE YOU, MARINES! THANK YOU!

How can we give this stuff the widest dissemination possible?

We need to "pull a Buckhead" on this.

thanks for the DOD link..

to those few who insist on defending Sites... i don't get it. why waste your time and effort on defending him? there is a young Marine being judged and convicted by the anti-military half of this country now - thanks to the old media and especially thanks to Sites. Sites is not some innocent young pup who didn't know very well what would happen when he made his choice between what was right (turning the tape over to Marine command) and wrong (making a name for himself at the expense of a young Marine). defense of him is missplaced. i visited his web site days before this incident accured and felt a great unease at his obvious ego and sympathy towards enemy combatants. i thought it was pretty obvious. i wasn't in the least surprised to discover he was behind this latest anti-military fiasco. it's vietnam de ja vu all over again. to me, he's no better than Walter Conkite. he certainly isn't the innocent missunderstood pro-military you make him out to be. his ego portrayed in his self portraits is enough to turn me off..
he got his wish - he is now a house hold name. that he got that at the expense of a young Marine fighting for his life is pathetic.... and sick. hope he enjoys his fame.

When the Pentagon said it would imbed reporters, Knight Ridder put out a call for people who a) spoke Arabic or any other Middle Easternish language and b) had prior military experience. I know any Knight Ridder reporters or photogs who wanted to go were able to if they had prior military experience.

Sure hope none of his traveling companions have trouble with "enemy identification".

If Shites gets "accidently" shot ... I would say their IFF was working perfectly

Do you think he picked those fotos or did the site?

Apparently the site did. The person who manages Sites' blog is claiming that the images were used by imagesagainstwar without Sites' permission:

I won't defend Sites' actions or reporting, but I think it's out of bounds to go after him on the grounds that an antiwar site is displaying his pictures ... especially if they're doing it against his own wishes.

It's about 6:00 PM, and it has already fell from the radar screen. No MSM coverage; but they are still concerned with the "murder" by the Marine

The US military is to blame for this one, because it has failed to establish a war censor office like we had in WWII.

It really is a failure of leadership at the DOD.

Total negligence on their part.

And nothing is being done to prevent another leftist SOB with a camera from aiding and abetting the enemy again.
