This one's just hit the road, and it looks like he's leading a long line of them out the door at the CIA. High time, IMHO.

It is disturbing, at the least, that a man who had such a large role in defending the nation from Islamic extremism seems to have been mentally captivated by it. I have a strong feeling that Scheuer's 15 minutes of fame have ended already
Thank heavens he's gone..Now for the resignations of those who approved his publishing the book while employed by the CIA..and being interviewed as "Anonymous"....Clean them out.

Frightening. This is the way the world ends (or at least humanity, the Earth has been around for 5 billion years and should be good for another 5 billion more) with both a bang and a whimper.

Big deal. We got nukes. Lots of 'em.

shit, I came to the same conclusion!!! Read the book and you will see a ideological conflict between an entrenched bureaucracy in fear of change and an administration hell bent on changing the mindset of this most important institution. This situation came to ahead in similar ways when Henry Kissinger came into the State dept to clean house under Nixon. Read Robert Kaplan's "The Arabists" to get an insight about this. The more thingd change the more they are the same...

We've all heard this list before; what's new here is a senior U.S. counterterrorism official agreeing that the demands included on it can and should be met

This article has everything you need to shoot down the media's next Richard Clarke attempt.
Amazing.

"It's too hard! Let's surrender!" wussiness.
Before surrendering Western Civilization to the barbarians I am prepared to:
- take away their children for reeducation
- visit nuclear destruction on barbarian cities as needed
- incarcerate entire national populations
I don't want to do any of these things. I am simply 'prepared' to do them rather than give the world over to barbarians. Barbarians that would do all of the above on a whim. I'd rather just kill the minimum number of bad guys required, but I fully realize that the islamofascists have threatened to use any means to defeat us, including NBC weapons, and subject the entire world to 13th century enslavement and dhimmitude. It is war-to-the-knife with no quarter given.

No wonder the folks at the CIA are squealing today with Porter Goss in charge. It's rather apparent that the CIA is full of liberal policy wonks, just like the State Dept.
Bush's most visible contribution may be to shape the Supreme Court for the next generation. His most invisible contribution will be to reform our intelligence agency into something effective and pro-American.

The methods outlined here- appease and ignore terrorism- were practiced in the 90's and led to 9/11. It is unbelievable that this person is a so called "expert".
That's why there's no room for compromise or appeasing liberals unless we are suicidal. They are totally irrational and have zero regard for our nation. They HATE their own country namely: our country.

Would it be too Machiavellian to suppose that the CIA deliberately overstated the likelyhood of WMD's in Iraq assuming that it would prevent GWB from initiating an attack on Iraq. When GWB said lets go anyway the CIA was caught with their trousers down around their ankles.

So this was "Anonymous" - a Michael Moore clone inside the CIA who wishes to see Israel destroyed and us living all as good happy Muslims forever. Its all the more reason for new CIA boss Peter Goss to press ahead with the work of rooting out all the Michael Scheuer liberals and anti-American kooks and anti-Bushies from the agency. The kind of lunatic, suicidal advice given in books like "Imperial Hubris" is exactly what this country doesn't need and can't afford.

I saw Scheuer's appearance on 60 Minutes and was surprised that such a supposedly limportant figure at CIA really didn't come across as being all that sharp.

The Islamic spies in the CIA that wrote this book should be hunted down and shot for treason.

I think I will read his book.
He was there, and that gives him enough credibiliy as far as I'm concerned.
I want to hear everything he has to say.

Reminds me of the scene in the movie In Harms Way where Admiral Broderick is trying to tell the press why Operation Skyhook isn't going to be easy and it will take lots of time and they all have to be patient and wars cant be defined by schedules...blah blah blah....
And Admiral 'Rock' Torrey tell the press....that Admiral Broderick is right about war and schedules only they aren't behind schedule they are ahead.....
Ole Broderick stands there with his...Broderick in his hand.... while the press rush right past him to get the real version of events from 'The Man'
