This race has taken more turns than Yassa Arafat's health.

Rossi's best counties have thousands of ballots remaining to be counted including 2,500 in Yakima, 2,200 in Benton, 600 in Stevens, 850 in Island and thousands more in smaller counties that Rossi won by big %'s.

I wonder how many previously uncounted ballots are being made up in King County right now.

Bush Applauds Arafat's 'New Attitude'
by Scott Ott

(2004-11-12) -- U.S. President George Bush today praised Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat for "assuming a new attitude," according to a White House spokesman.

"The president believes that Chairman Arafat's new attitude is one that bodes well for peace in the Middle East," said spokesman Scott McClellan. "Arafat's rhetoric has cooled in recent days."

U.S. negotiators reportedly expect the Palestinian leader to put up less resistance to reasonable proposals, thanks to "a new posture that is more grounded, stable, consistent."

"Chairman Arafat seems to be taking an in-depth look at the land he has fought to defend," Mr. McClellan said, "and yet he's looking up to a promising future, where the grass is greener. President Bush has long believed that it's your attitude that determines your altitude, and Mr. Arafat has become a great illustration of that."

Judging by past elections, King County will probably "find" just enough.

I would have to believe thousands. Election is supposed to be certified tomorrow. Counting 6,000+ a day is not going to cut it so what counties do you think they will leave out? The conservative ones, of course.

"I wonder how many previously uncounted ballots are being made up in King County right now."

I know what you're talking about. Yesterday, 10,000 extra ballots suddenly appear in King County just two days before the final vote certification. King County had estimated 11,000 ballots left to be counted when suddenly they announced it was 21,000 ballots. It's pretty hard to have a 100% error rate in your estimate (even for a gov't agency).
