Can the Pentagon charge Kevin Sites?

Posted on 11/16/2004 1:07:33 PM PST by nothernlights

Was not the reporter under the duty to hand over this tape to military authorities, under the rules of imbeds? If that's the case then strong measures should be taken against Sites. Also has Sites been removed from that Marine unit, because at this point i"m sure his presence is a distraction to the Marines and therefore endangers their lives. Sites has to be removed from that unit at the very least.

Are you not paying attention? I said what you said was true (no means for arrest). Then I lamented that it used to be the patriotic and wise thing to do.

Are you wanting to hang this Marine the way you wanted to hang the Lt Colonel earlier in this War? Sites is a scumbag.

So let's drop it and walk away.

Nope. The Marine, from what I saw on the tape, was justified. Lt. Col West Article 15'd several of his soldiers for violating several standing orders for handling prisoners, violated those same orders himself, and then tried to conduct his defense in the press instead of the courtroom. In short, West demonstrated that he was unable to command himself and was thus unfit for command in a combat zone. The two situations are very different.

BTW. The media used both incidents the same way. To trash our military.

And I don't have a problem with the tape being shown. Hell, I want every potential jihadi to see the damn thing.

"Holy Shi'ite! These kuffars ain't f***ing around! Dyin's a lousy way to make a livin'!"

I see, you are worried about how the press will react.

If you wish to take the counsel of your fears, then leave. I and the rest of the courageous remnant will continue to boldly support this war, praising those soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen who do good, chastising those soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen who screw up, and continuing mission.

You are thinking like a westerner. That is a mistake in understanding these vermin.

His only worry about the press is the the impact their idiotic slant could potentially have on our fellow citizens who are blind to reason and dutifully get their spoons out daily to swallow any amount of drivel & manure fed to them by the alphabet networks. And he ain't leaving.

You're thinking that these folks don't feel fear. That is a far graver mistake in understanding these vermin.

In other words, he's ruled by his fear.

If you lack the stomach for the fight, there isn't a damn thing anyone can do for you.

Fear! You got the wrong guy. My only fear is that I'll kill the first liberal turd I hear calling a soldier a killer. I support our troops in deed and in word constantly. Even financially and I am a volunteer in a military family support group. Got to go home now. Back off with the self-righteousness.

Their fear is overcome by their hate. Would you strap a bomb onto yourself if wounded and wave a white flag? No you'd fight until the enemy killed you.

Good night!

for the sake of discussion, let us consider the death of the irregular fighter to be a war crime.
This is what the UN, EU, and assorted a$$holes-other choose to call it, so let us run with it.

There were three people directly involved:
1. The irregular fighter
2. The Marine
3. Kevin Sites

I find it interesting that Sites is a known anti-war activist...
was in the room at the right time, camera rolling...
apparently KNEW the bldg had been cleared by another group of Marines...
yet neglected to inform the incoming troops of this datum.

It seems to me that, if a war crime has been committed, the perpertator is Mr. Sites: knowingly permitting and contributing to the death-by-gunfire of a wounded and incapacitated hostile for the purposes of garnering ratings, fame, and furtherance of his anti-war/anti-American agenda.

Mr. Sites and his "negligence" should be investigated at least as rigorously as those of the gunner. Indeed, I am of the opinion that the Marine is utterly blameless in this incident.

That's the way I see it.

Sorry, but that argument will not survive one second in any court.

that would depend on what a thorough investigation turned up, wouldn't it?
