Can the Pentagon charge Kevin Sites?

Posted on 11/16/2004 1:07:33 PM PST by nothernlights

Was not the reporter under the duty to hand over this tape to military authorities, under the rules of imbeds? If that's the case then strong measures should be taken against Sites. Also has Sites been removed from that Marine unit, because at this point i"m sure his presence is a distraction to the Marines and therefore endangers their lives. Sites has to be removed from that unit at the very least.

Have you regained your composure?

Have you regained your composure?

That's a very nasty case of displacement and projection you've gotten.

Now, would you mind explaining how isolating the US miitary from the American public will increase the American public's support for the military?

I don't think you're ready yet for an answer. I will give you this to chew on. You know how the president grants special access to certain reporters for personal interviews, while denying others? (That's a hint.)

Let's give it a rest while you calm down. In the meantime, think about how the MSM covered the war period from 1942 through 1945.

Take it slowly and don't get overheated. I'll be back later to review your ideas.

Take away his media credentials on the spot and refuse him military or government transportation. Let him find his own way out of Iraq. That ought to be fun.

I don't think you're ready yet for an answer.

If you'd stopped after the third word, you would've made an absolutely true statement. But you kept your mouth running instead...

I will give you this to chew on. You know how the president grants special access to certain reporters for personal interviews, while denying others? (That's a hint.)

Here's the problem: the press might not decide to play your game, in your way. And they can make it stick. They can simply report every bit of unflattering news from overseas, give the impression that we're losing the war, and then make it look like the military's trying to cover it up. And your plan would help.

Let's give it a rest while you calm down.

I'm so chill, I'm cryogenic.

Meanwhile, we still have people screeching for Sites to be murdered...

...and you're telling me to calm down?

Does the phrase Yob' tvoyu mat' have any special significance for you?

In the meantime, think about how the MSM covered the war period from 1942 through 1945.

In the meantime, think about the conditions that obtained from December 8th, 1941 to September 2nd, 1945.

There was a specific legal condition the United States was in during that time. The press operated under legal strictures unique to that condition. Those stirctures and that condition do not obtain at this time.

Don't believe these 2 idiots, they keep making empty statements. The military would never have allowed this video to be made public without first obscurring the marines faces. The fact that this video is out without any such device is proof that it was released without permission. NBC knows it and of their own admission they are keeping Sites "underwraps". He has also been proven to be a vehement anti war protester posting pages of photos & commentary on notorious anti war website. Also, to make the picture of Sites even clearer, he is one of the very very very "lucky" american to have been taken hostage in Iraq and....released.

Interesting. I just saw that he was captured by the Fedayeen...then released! Whoa.

I'm going to see what else I can find out about this guy.

I cannot find any requirement to obscure military personnel's faces in that message.

Nor nametapes. So the DOD wrote rules that allow embedded media to film controversial incidents and to release them without review as long as they don't threaten ongoing operations, AND, to reveal the identity of our Marines and soldiers to the rest of the world.....legally!!!

Sounds like a major clusterf**k to me.

No, the idea was that, even with lamsestream media pud-pounding and editorializing, we'd still win the PR war. And we are.

Re: Poobah

You know the opposition is a coward and a fool when it resorts to personal attacks. For me, he disguised his invective in Russian, betting that I would Google it and discover its foul meaning. He is a child in a grown man's body. Like ModernMan, Poobah deserves our sympathy and prayers, but I would cease communication with such a one, if I were you.

That's not a personal attack. It's opinion. And northernlights threw the first punch, anyway...

For me, he disguised his invective in Russian, betting that I would Google it and discover its foul meaning.

If I did make that bet, it looks as if I've won. The Force obviously gives me power over weaker minds. BWAHAHAHAHA!

He is a child in a grown man's body.

So what's your excuse?

Sonny boy, you wouldn't know honor if it busted a cap in your head and said, "There, NOW he's dead!"

That's great coming from an old fart who can't tell a judas without a dictionary and a law book.
