ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY EXPLODES AT VILLAGE VOICE

ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY EXPLODES AT VILLAGE VOICE

Catholic League president William Donohue called attention today to the anti-Christian explosion under way at the Village Voice:

*The day after the election, James Ridgeway confessed, “The dream has become a nightmare.” By that he meant “the dream of a secular, liberal democracy.” Why? Because, he said, “the Christians are stronger than ever.” On 11-16, Ridgeway blasted “the self-absorbed, selfish Christians who take sanctimonious pride in wrapping themselves in the banners of the civil rights movement, missionary work abroad, giving old clothes to single mothers,” etc. He then blamed Christians for not challenging the Klan in the 1980s, noting it is Jews who fight racism outside the South.

*On 11-15, Sharon Lerner warned of “an army of bloodthirsty archconservatives” who constitute the pro- life movement. So bad are things for the pro-abortionists that she says, “the sky could really fall.” She makes it clear that it is the Christians she fears.

*On 11-16, Sydney H. Schanberg wondered aloud if the election meant “we’re having a second Civil War.” Though he doubts we are, he nonetheless concludes that “there’s a feel of holy-war fever in America.” He also makes it clear that it is the Christians he fears.

*On 11-16, Michael Feingold shows he’s crashed: “The spoliation of our national forests by Bush-based economic interests, joined with the accelerated melting of the polar cap…will bring on what must surely be an increasing parade of natural disasters, pandemics, outbreaks of disease….” He warns that “as the sun gets more dangerous, the air less breathable, the water less drinkable, the hurricanes more frequent,” even the rich will suffer. How did this happen? He says, “this is the election in which American Christianity destroyed itself. Today the church is no longer a religion but a tacky political lobby….” Indeed, “Christianity as currently preached and practiced in Middle America is virtually Satan, by the standards of anyone who strives to follow the teachings of Jesus.”

NOTE: It would behoove the 85 percent of Americans who are Christian not to treat this outburst of anti- Christian bigotry lightly.

As a Jew who voted for Bush I want someone to start hating me too as I'm starting to feel left out!~}

They hate you too. In fact it is so fashionable to hate Jews that even the Jews that voted for Kerry hate themselves.

No, we shouldn't take it lightly. This was a Christian nation, still is apparently. I'll put it this way we were a stronger Christian nation until atheists attempted their take over of it with their version of false, anything goes, morality.

Here is a pearl of wisdom, good will tolerate evil, evil not only will not tolerate good, but will be determined to destroy it.
The Christians of this nation were asked to be more tolerant of this sin and that, and not only to accept it as one of man's basic rights, but to affirm it, and adopt it into mainstream society.

Now that secularists have crossed a line in asking us to call God a liar because a group of people are sinning and denying it is a sin, the hysterics of the atheists are out of control and their madness is showing. And if not confronted and put down, it will grow into open and hostile actions against Christians, from employment to burning churches.

There is a whole lot of Christainphobia going on with the Gays who hate America/Christians and GW while pretending to be journalists.......

Wait until they discover a "gay" gene and yuppie liberal women start aborting rather than have their one child be a queer. These same gays will scream genocide and demand the Right To Life (at least for gay babies). That will tear the dems apart.

Why befoul a perfectly good old word? Should be: "The Voice is very queer. It is steeped in queerness"

homosexuality is THE cultural battleground of the time. it must never gain sanction nor endorsement in this land.

I'm sure there will eventually be 'civil unions' of some kind. If this is so, there are a few restrictions that I think are important.

1. It should be strictly for same-sex couples. If not, there will be many people who will enter into civil unions instead of marriage, thereby legitimizing same-sex marriage anyway.

2. It should not merely be marriage re-labeled. The specific legal rights commonly brought up should be addressed individually.

I don't usually make a point of this but I'm not a Christian. My vote still goes with Jesus Land.

Bring 'em on! Look at the history of Christianity. We grow like weeds on fertilizer when they're most determined to destroy us. I really think that that's why we're seeing a resurgence of morality today. If they try to tear us down the church will only expand and grow.

A homosexual newspaper objects to Religion which has a right and a wrong, this is a surprise?

The only surprise is that the media dances around the fact that it is a homosexual newspaper.

Yep, the Gay Mafia would drop their pro abortion chance in a millisecond,

Yeah, the queers have a deep-down knowledge that their behavior is depraved and shameful, and that they will be sorely punished if there is a God. Hence their fear and hate.

If there were a queer gene, it would have died out years ago since queers procreate at a much lower rate than heterosexuals.

jboot,

Rabbit trail - I agree with you that our code of laws is (rightly) based upon the 10 commandments. The original "moral code" that is directed at our actions toward others. I was referring to the moral code that directs our actions that only affect the personal not the interactual.

I agree with you in that I am dead set against the idea of gay marriage. Marriage is a word that has meaning and the idea of usurping it by the gay activist movement is a shot across the bow of the Christians among us. Civil unions yes. Marriage, hell no! BTW, this comes back to the idea your rights end where mine begin. Deal?
