smcmike: "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have called you sick. Your ideas are though."
papertyger: "What could convince you that Geekdejure is correct"
smcmike: "nothing, his ideas are repulsive"
papertyger: "That is hyperbole, and you're closed-minded (for not accepting that we should kill all the muslims?)
smcmike: "Um, I don't think that not wanting to kill a third of the population of the planet is closed-minded, here are some attempts to prove that through logic."
papertyger: "I'm not arguing that we should kill all muslims, and your logic is stupid. You aren't worth talking to since you refuse to give up your firmly held beliefs."
smcmike: "Oh, I see, you are changing the argument. In that case, I agree with you somewhat, I guess. Here is what I think we should do."
papertyger: "Your argument is a cliche! We don't have to apply western rules of fairness when judging muslims! Tell me what you have read! They call America the Great Satan! They are fighting against democracy and human rights, which you obviously have no understanding of!"
smcmike: "You caught me, I am not an expert on the subject. Most Muslims see US support of Isreal as the primary problem in US-Muslim relations. What do you think we should do about this problem?"
papertyger: "I have read lots of books! (a nice reading list though). Therefore, you are a third-grader! Wild, wild mixed metaphor! We are not imperialists! Russia helped found Isreal, and you are a TV-watching idiot for suggesting that it is a sore point in US-Arab relations!"
papertyger: "Islam has problems. The Isrealis have been nothing but accomodating to the Palestinians. I refuse to offer a position of my own because you are too stupid to understand it, you third-grader you."
smcmike: "Um... ok... I was trying to argue killing all the muslims might not the best approach to this problem, and most certainly is not a moral one. Your argument so far has been that you have read lots of books, and that therefore I should be open to the idea that we should kill all the muslims?"
Do you always throw temper tantrums when you aren't coddled? I was actually beginning to gain a measure of respect for you with your moderating tone.
I jumped into this because your only response to geek was varying iterations of incredulity, and ever hotter rhetoric. Geek does indeed sound like a nut, but he at least grasps the magnitude of the problem. And truth to tell, I don't think it would take much to convince him to moderate his position provided one shows a willingness to address the problem as it exists. You on the other hand, show no such clarity. It shouldn't take much to show him wanton butchery is wrong. But how does one reach a person like you, who imagines we can negotiate with people for whom "honor killing" makes sense?
Can I look forward to you actually addressing the substantive questions I posed rather than another petulant outburst?

Again, I repeat -- So am I suggesting we declare war on over 1 million billion Muslims? The question is moot – Islam has declared war on the rest of the human race. When one side knows it’s at war and the other thinks peace and brotherhood prevail, guess who wins???
