I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

All this reporter did was tape what happened as it was happening.

Where are all the reports of heroism? Where is the report from a day ago of this same Marine taking a shot in the face and watching his buddy killed by a booby trapped body?

He released it to Al-Jazeera who has aired it all over the ME and is inciting more violence against our troops. I'd call that aiding the enemy, especially since you KNOW Al-Jazeera will not tell the whole story. He knew that when he released it to them!! Everyone knows Al-Jazeera is the terrorists mouthpiece.
He released it to his employer, NBC. They probably gave it to Al-Jazeera, but that was not Sites' doing.

And yet, Al-Jazeera has an office in Washington D.C. Does that mean that Bush is aiding the enemy by not shutting it down?
In a quick search I found this:
"According to Kerry's crewman Michael Madeiros, Kerry had an agreement with him to turn the boat in and onto the beach if fired upon. Each of the three boats involved in the operation was involved in the agreement." O'Neill writes that one crewman even recalls a discussion of probable medals.
Doug Reese, a pro Kerry Army veteran, recounted what happened that day to O'Neill, "Far from being alone, the boats were loaded with many soldiers commanded by Reese and two other advisors. When fired at, Reese's boat--not Kerry's--was the first to beach in the ambush zone. Then Reese and other troops and advisors (not Kerry) disembarked, killing a number of Viet Cong and capturing a number of weapons. None of the participants from Reese's boat received Silver Stars.
O'Neill continues: "Kerry's boat moved slightly downstream and was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade. . . .A young Viet Cong in a loincloth popped out of a hole, clutching a grenade launcher, which may or may not have been loaded. . . Tom Belodeau, a forward gunner, shot the Viet Cong with an M-60 machine gun in the leg as he fled. . . . Kerry and Medeiros (who had many troops in their boat) took off, perhaps with others, and followed the young Viet Cong and shot him in the back, behind a lean to."
O'Neill concludes "Whether Kerry's dispatching of a fleeing, wounded, armed or unarmed teenage enemy was in accordance with the customs of war, it is very clear that many Vietnam veterans and most Swiftees do not consider this action to be the stuff of which medals of any kind are awarded; nor would it even be a good story if told in the cold details of reality. There is no indication that Kerry ever reported that the Viet Cong was wounded and fleeing when dispatched. Likewise, the citation simply ignores the presence of the soldiers and advisors who actually 'captured the enemy weapons' and routed the Viet Cong. . . . [and] that Kerry attacked a 'numerically superior force in the face of intense fire' is simply false. There was little or no fire after Kerry followed the plan. . . . The lone, wounded, fleeing young Viet Cong in a loincloth was hardly a force superior to the heavily armed Swift Boat and its crew and the soldiers carried aboard."
So the teenager may or may not have been armed...either way, he is dead.

That is NOT what he did. He CREATED the scene.
He knew more about the situation than the Marines. He knew wounded had been left there. He did NOT tell the Marines this key information.
However he DID whisper into his mike as he was filming "these are the wounded who were left behind". I heard that when Hannity played the complete tape yest.
The Marine, after the shooting, exclaimed, I did not KNOW, SIR.
I.e. that these were wounded who had been disarmed. (However, someone else could have come into the bldg in the mean time in anycase.)
Seits DENIED the Marines important contextual information -- so he could film them going into the building, tension filled, not knowing what to expect. High drama.
So Seits set the stage, and let roll the camera. He CREATED this scene, then stood back to record it . . .
Not only is he guilty of putting a young Marine on the spot with fractions of a second to make a decision, he is MORE guilty than the Marine pulling the trigger -- because HE had more knowledge of the situation.
PLUS, if he thought a war crime was in the process of taking place, HE should have intervened, NOT stood there to record it on film, then LATER posture how UNFORTUNATE it was!! ANYONE has a moral duty to intervene.
He needs to be charged.
If I have one problem, it is that the cameraman didn't get in the way. However, I have seen enough in my life to know that God will take care of what needs to be done and all WILL turn out OK.
Well, with all due respect to Mr. O'Neill, even if the rocket launcher were unloaded, I wouldn't say "unarmed"...he might have just been redeploying to reload and shoot from behind the structure.
Still, Kerry did not deserve the medal for it...in fact, he abandoned his command to do this...
I like your tagline. I might be a bit radical in that I also think we might be better in consider "illegal = infiltrators or invaders".
