I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

What's the problem? I am saying this type of video should be held pending an investigation. Maybe other people are saying they want it immediately, but I am not "other people". In other words, I don't want to "have it both ways", as you claimed. I want it one way. I really don't know how to make it any clearer.

*Note- if you would pull your head out of your a$$, and READ the post, youd see that I was replying to someone else. From this thread and the duplicates, I stood by him, acknowledging the percieved threat.
I also called the USMC Liason office, stating formally (in writing also) to testify on behalf of the marine to help show no fault.
So, please stop drinking that can of "stupid" that you have apparently been nursing while you typed this.
PS- if you can acknowledge that you made a mistake, then Ill retract this statement. But Im tired of getting Sh!+ on by Freepers who dont know what the heck they are talking about.

Also called the USMC PR in DC and wrote to my congressman Darrell Issa which represents Camp Pendleton. As a corpsman, I would do the same thing. I will protect my MARINES.

GEEZH! I tried since kerry got nominated to talk with them and all they did was turn their rear ends at me and some very respected people on this blog.
However, the MSM is like a bad dream that doesn't know that the alarm clock has gone off and it's time to disappear.
This country sent an overwhelming message to the MSM and to their friends in the world, and that is that we as Americans have nothing to apologize about. I don't see too many people risking their lives to swim to North Korea,Cuba, Iran or Iraq, but I know of some movie stars and singers in this country that I'd like to donate a ticket too.
I called the Marines this morning and never felt more helpless in my life. Now on to our Senators!
Dan Rather still has a job, and the New York Times and The Washington Post still have their subscribers. But oh my gosh, a Marine shoots and kills a near dead enemy, and the next thing the MSM will probably do is find out the name of the dead "martyr" and speak to his mother and family about what a good boy he was.
May we take our anger and insure this Marine doing his duty never sees the inside of a Brig or a dishonorable discharge!! Six months ago when I watched a Marine General "apologizing" to the leaders of Fallujah, I almost threw up.
Who in our government was orchestrating this?
Enough of this madness. If we're not committed to total destruction of an enemy, then stop sending the best of our youth to meaningless confrontations. These are the same people who surrendered to us by the thousands in 1991, but what held us back from doing it again?
Who is going to investigate the "investigators"? As soon as one tries, we hear the media say they're protected by the Consitution of the very country they weaken by this kind of yellow journalism.
There is going to come a day, and I hope it is soon, that these imposters who entertain us with what they call "news" will be shown to be an extension of the entertainment industry, and not seekers of true actions. Until that day, money (or the lack of it) seems to be the only guide that determines what gets called news, and the rest is labled "rantings of the extremist right wing conspiracy." If you don't believe me, just ask the last President of our great country, Hillary R Clinton.

We can pray that somwhow, through the chain, this young marine has heard of the love and support he's receiving stateside.

I hope that the Marine Corps does a proper investigation, as is warranted. However:
I worry that the publicity of this will influence the USMC investigation to make it worse than simple justice would normally entail. Indeed, the rear-echelon types may be concerned about the PR aspects too much.
I worry that the Old Media have already tried and convicted this Marine. It is a lynching by the Old Media.
That is not justice by anyone's standards, yours or mine.
