Marine accused of wrongful shooting needs our help...
16 nov 04 | Atlanta

Posted on 11/16/2004 4:34:34 AM PST by Atlanta

I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

"If the reporter believed that a crime had been committed, wasn't he obligated to turn the tape over to the proper authorities immediately?"

This was basically the question asked this morning on Fox 'n Friends. Colonel North, E.D., et al were discussing it...once again E.D. got pretty agitated! She was incensed that this young marine was being persecuted...he had apparently just lost one of his buddies a few minutes earlier, been shot in the face himself the day before, etc. All mentioned how the reporter had been anti-military from the start, too.

These danged reporters should just stay in their cushy offices; they all seem to be mostly anti-everything these young enlisteds are trying to do. I do wonder if the reporter sent Michael Moore a copy of the tape for his future "use"!

We are not fighting an organized uniformed army in Fallujah. We are fighting radical terrorists that don't obey any rules according to the Geneva Convention. If they want to booby trap themselves then they should all prepare to be shot on the spot if they do not comply.

The liberal elitists in the mainstream media are looking for another Abu Ghraib. They lost the election and they still want our country to fail.

Be interesting to see how long these foreign insurgent terrorists have been in Fallujah? What was their relationship all along with Saddam? and how are liberals going to feel knowing that international terrorism is a reality as they continue to be on
the wrong side of history?

When it comes to the media remember this Ann Coulter quote."We've finally given liberals a war against fundamentalism, and they don't want to fight it. They would, except it would put them on the same side as the United States."

Besides haven't some of the terrorists we released from Cuba been known to be out killing again and joining their radical fundamentalists to threaten our
existence? Sooner or later liberals and the elitist mainstream media are going to have to make a painful choice on who's human rights are more important. The
rights of Innocent civilians or terrorists. Its amazing that they would take their ends justifies the means policy this far. They better hope that some angry Marines don't arrive back to the USA and open up a can of woop ass in their cozy liberal magical thinking office world they live in.

Excellent message. Very professional and matter-of-fact without resorting to shrillness. How did you keep your cool?

I fully agree. These insurgent scumbags were hiding out in a mosque ("religion of peace" worship hall) with the specific intent of killing our troops. I don't blame the Marine at all for doing what he did. Heck, he had been shot in the face the day before, and was back out fighting. He gets a big thumbs up from me. I will e-mail Senator Warner and the White House to show my support for this brave young man.

I couldn't agree more. We need to support this guy like the hero he is!!

We need to get started on this NOW. Dan Rather and Mary Mapes are probably already on the ground in Iraq investigating as we speak.

Great letter. My brief e-mails were much more blunt. I hate the MSM and what they've done to our country. God bless our troops doing their jobs.

Imus was quite supportive of the soldier this morning. He said something on the order of "and this is why people hate the main stream media". He made it quite clear that

1. The soldier in question was not part of the group that had treated the wounded earlier.

2. The soldier in question had just got shot in the face that morning.

3. One of the soldiers in his unit had been killed the day before by a terrorist pretending to be wounded.

Can someone please post a "boiler plate" letter that's easy to edit and send to all the people on this list.

" He should be led out of Iraq in handcuffs and charged with treason. "

A p.s. to the rest of your comment per above.

I totally agree.

This photographer should be made to feel the discomfort/angst/pain and suffering that this soldier is now being subjected to for doing this friking photo-journalist a favor.

He well could have been saving his life at that moment; and surely in the bigger picture; everyone of those soldiers, has saved him for sure.

As to our enemy; the fact is; not one of them; should be saved. . .for later.

NBC, collectively - they love that word - should be made to feel the heat as well; big time.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but is this the same Marine who was injured by being shot in the head the other day. I thought I read that he suffered a fractured skull but was let back into combat. Perhaps the injury or the memory of the fire fight caused him to freak out on the terrorist. I hope they leave this Marine alone.

My thoughts exactly only...the troops may not be able to stop embeds from tagging along, but how mindful they are of their safety is another consideration altogether.

Of course the US Military will do the right thing and protect this scum if danger threatens, but every now and then I like to think along other lines in flights of fancy.

Couldn't Bush pardon him if he is convicted? Also, Congress needs to change the rules of war for our guys if we are going to win this war.

Just sent Sites a Nasty Grahm. Told him to keep away from out soldiers that we hired to take care of business over there. And we abide by the decision of the Marine, not his.
