If Kevin Sites is so concerned if the Marine shot an (a) dead terrorist (b) wounded terrorist (c) dead terrorist rigged with an IED or (d) feigning death and reaching for the hand grenade, he can put down his camera and check it out for himself.
You're a marine. He's a terrorist who's vowed to fight you to the death, he is not a prisoner, he is not surrenduring, and your buddy got blown up 10mins ago from a rigged corpse. If that terrorist so much as has a knee-jerk reflex, THAT IS AN AUTOMATIC AND IMMEDIATE DEATH SENTENCE, with no chance of clemency.
For the love of 40 virgins waiting for you in Heaven, this is not Scott Peterson coverage. This is our young people being shot at and trapped, who have the right to defend themselves first, ask questions later.
CNN spins the article, who have the gall to print this:
The Marines said they are investigating why the wounded Iraqis were left behind for 24 hours and whether the man was killed illegally. Navy investigators said they believe they have located the fifth Iraqi -- the only one not wounded a second time -- who said he wanted to provide information about the killing.
right before this
About a block away, a Marine was killed and five others wounded by a booby-trapped body they found in a house after a shootout with insurgents.

This is an opinion; it goes in Bloggers or General Chat.
It sure as heck doesn't go in Breaking News.
This just in:
"A newly surfaced document from John Kerry's Navy record says he shot a lone, wounded enemy who was running away in the incident that led to his Silver Star, his highest military decoration."
I posted a support our troops message at Kevin's forum, I reloaded a couple minutes later and whoever's moderating his website, is deleting all the pro-troop messages. I don't get this, WHY would someone do that
I don't care about Kevin, whoever he is, web site.
Want to know something even more appalling is The Independent's headline read something like
U.S. Marine shoots Injured Iraqi in Cold Blood...
COLD BLOOD??? They have some gall jumping to the conclusion by assuming to know the mind of that soldier! Cold blood my ass. He did what he had to do in that situation!
Someone should take the editor of that headline and slap him around a bit... in "cold blood", of course.
Can you say someone with an A-G-E-N-D-A?
Kevin had better be watching his back in Fallujah.

Now if this Marine was a future Democratic politician with connections, this would be acceptable conduct.

A purported copy of the after-action report from the incident that yielded John Kerry a Silver Star in Vietnam confirms what the Democratic candidate's critics have been charging that the young lieutenant shot a wounded Viet Cong fighter as he fled.
His discussion board now says, "(not accepting new messages)"
Chaos like this is all the more reason George W. Bush should get ready to exercise his power to extend presidential pardons not like the impeached one did to FALN terrorists or fugitive cowards like Marc Rich, but to our brave troops who are sacrificing beyond belief for their country.
I wonder where this hero Kevin Sites is from. Anybody know if he's Canadian?
Hopefully he won't have to pardon the Marine... I mean, can a Marine seriously be court martialed over THIS? Just because NBC thinks it is a war crime to not let a terrorst get you within gunshot, doesn't mean it IS a war crime... right??? Ugh, I can already see CBS News jumping for joy over this, for more ammo to hit the troops with. :(
I've always considered NBC the least offensive of the major three. CBS and ABC are 100 percent biased for the liberals, but at least NBC seems to have a few fair reporters.
However, last night on Hardball at 8 p.m. Pacific time, they led off with this story! Our soldiers are being killed by the dozens over there, and they led off with this crap. Then Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell went on and on about how hard-liners are taking over the Bush Administration. I thought I even heard Mitchell refer to the Bush Administration as a regime at one point!
The mainstream media is really smarting after the voters went to the polls in droves and rebuked the Rather-Jennings-Brokaw endorsements of Kerry. They'll stop at nothing to bash Bush, even if it means bashing our troops in the process.
Unfortunately, I think he's untouchable right now. But I wouldn't cry if it happened. As far as I'm concerned, every marine who dies in the coming days is on his head.
Any soldier who dies because they hesitate is blood that's on his hands.
This guy, as far as I'm concerned, makes Peter Arnett look like a flag waver.
I don't know if Kevin Sites is being all that unfair here. I saw his full report on NBC or msNBC last night, and he went out of his way to explain how U.S. forces have been attacked repeatedly by bombs placed on dead or injured fighters. I just saw the one report, so I don't know what else he has said about it on TV or on his blog.
I think the real harm here is being done by liberal journalists here at home who seem to be blowing this out of proportion. It's a valid story, but it shouldn't be the top story when so much else is happening over there and around the world. Because it was captured on videotape (which the networks are censoring, ironically), it's turning into another Rodney King story.
I don't know if he's Canadian... I hope he's a Syrian mercenary so one of our fine troops can take him out next. Ok, that was in bad taste, I didn't mean it... what I meant to say was, the Marine should've shot the reporter first!
Yes. The military can and has.
Just because NBC thinks it is a war crime to not let a terrorst get you within gunshot, doesn't mean it IS a war crime... right???
Right. If the marine violated the rules of engagement when he killed the thug, and a courts martial results, the charge will likely include murder.
