The movie is bombing in the cinemas because it sucks.
Tom Hanks is a lefty - avoid his films.

Imagine the movie with real actors and scenery. Could it be that movies trying to strike an emotional chord would do better to use more realism? Maybe animation can only go so far on this track. Just wondering.

I didn't say it was boring, but from the trailers and previews it simply looks boring to me. A movie can have a lot of great special effects and a great storyline, but if the timing drags or the look is too dark and staid, it will have an uphill battle to fill the seats. Meanwhile, the previews and commercials for The Incredibles are great.

Thank you for the synopsis. I couldn't tell by the ads what the whole thing was about.

Hanks is a lefty and Spielberg is a major Castro bootlicker.
Spielberg got rich on making violent films for children.
Polar Express is a HUGE flop. They spent $290 million in total and it has grossed $23 million and will be pulled from the cinemas soon.
The cinemas kill turkeys fast. They need to keep those seats filled.
hanks will be in the anti-Christian Dav Vinci Code.

There is no bigger fan of animation than I, but I viewed the trailer of "Polar Express" and was appalled. The characters look like creepy zombies.
For great animation, catch "Spirited Away".

Sean better be careful. Bing reportedly has mob connections back in NYC. He is well connected with a member of the Gambino or Genovese family.
Bing is scum and any freeper is a moron to spend a nickel on this crappy movie or any Hanks or Spielberg crap including Private Ryan. They just made movie of veterans.

I'm telling you, nothing about your assessment could be further from the truth. You should see it. It's awesome.

In this movie, animation works good because it allows the story line to develop much better.

"The Incredibles" rules! Never waste your money on a movie made from a kid's picture book. Picture books do not have a plot worthy of a movie. They are appreciated for their artistic appeal and are ruined by computer-generated special effects. "Jumanji" was another dark turkey that should have never been made into the poor movie it became.

In my collection as well as Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in Sky. I know what you're saying about the trailer. There is a sense of woodeness to the characters but you get beyond that. This movie is a masterpiece in it's own sense.

Still very warly in the season. It'll make up for lost time after turkey day.

With the kind of money spent on this film they will have to gross at least $300,000,000 before they see any profit on this movie. I just don't see this film doing big domestic Box Office and I wonder what the world wide gross will be.
To maximize any more money on this film they will have to wait until next Holiday season to put this film out on VHS and DVD as it will not sell well in the spring or summer which is what the Producers of "Elf" have done in the marketing of that picture.
Another example of Hollywood being to in love with new technology and not thinking everything out as to the cost relation of the film. $165 Million spent on a film like this makes it almost impossible to recoup and make a profit on.

You are very angry person that transcends Tom Hanks and politics.

Ok...let's review.
Everyone who has actually SEEN the film on the thread thinks it's great.
Everyone who hasn't actually seen the film thinks it's terrible.
That was the exact pattern of all the "Alamo" threads. Interesting.
(I haven't seen it and don't plan to, mainly because I'm not interested in the subject and don't have kids.)
To: wagglebee
Hey....I worked on the film for 2 years. It's good and has nothing to do with politics. There are conservatives who worked on the film too you know! That's how we feed our families...so go see the film!
