I think he is saying that not everyone believes in Christ, and you know what, they have every right to their beliefs, without undo hardships.

We all need to get along, and be accepting and tolerant of each others religious beliefs, and not polarize this nation across religious lines. There is nothing wrong with expressing your beliefs, and preaching the lords word, but when it starts to infringe on the rights of others, who do not necessarily believe the same thing we do, we must draw a line....'

I agree with most of what you said, and as a fellow Christian, I am not going to bash you, but are you aware that this country was founded in the name of Christ, and is predominately Christian, and while we set up a government that offered tolerance of all religions, some of those who do NOT except the majority religion in this country have used our tolerance and our good-will and so subverted 'the law', that we could become criminals in our own land? I am referring to the so-called Noahide Laws, which trash the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In point of fact, the Noahide Laws are rule by the Scribes and Pharisees, which Christ set us free from. That, my dear Christian, is what this is all about. So where do we go from here? That is the true question that will play out in the coming years, and I think it has finally started to take a turn in the right direction, but it ain't over yet. President Bush has appointed an Attorney General who he made a point of emphasizing would enforce 'the rule of law'. How come no one ever says enforce the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? Ever ask yourself that? President Bush follows this new 'rule of law'. He has issued 4 proclamations extolling 'Education Day', a euphimism for 'Noahide Day'.

Keillor's statements reflect the undercurrent that has been undermining 400 years of Christian civilization in the United States. I'm surmising that the other side has awakened to the fact that they have 'a problem', because Christians are coming awake to the truth of who they are - the Israel of God. Thanks to God and Mel Gibson, we may have set them and their agenda back 40 years, according to Abe Foxman. Or maybe they are set back for good, and will have to set up their Noahide kingdom someplace beside the US. We can include them here, but we can't let them displace us. And we won't. Simple as that.
