Aside from the utter stupidity of this man, we born-again people have dual citizenship while we wait for our ride home.

hope he keeps this up and that NPR and others tell this story over and over. then I hope some judge tells people that gay marriage is a free speech issue and can't be denied. that will cement the image of the out of control for twenty more years.

Not to go off on a tangent but the Rockefeller Chapel seemed like such an oxymron that I has to see what other odd things might go on there. I wasn't disappointed:

(check out the very last sentence of the post)

Morning Prayer
Join those seeking respite, solace, inspiration and centering. Savor the regular infusion accorded those who participate in intentional devotion. Daily morning prayer is held Monday-Friday from 8 - 8:15 a.m. All are welcome to join in this Taizé-based liturgy.

Studs Terkel
May 2005 - TBA Mr. Terkel will continue the Chapel's Religion and Violence series. Free. For moreinformation, call 773-702-7059.

AIDS Quilt at Rockefeller Visitors to Rockefeller through March 15 will be treated to an exhibit of 6 squares of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Each square contains memorial panels that were created by family and friends of people who have died of AIDS. Please take a few minutes to stop by and experience the creativity and eloquence of what has been called the largest Folk Art project in the world. The entire Quilt was last displayed in 1996, on the Mall in Washington, DC, stretching from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol building. With more than 44,000 squares, the NAMES Project invites organizations to display one or more squares. The Chapel staff requested squares that included the panels of the these five people who were known and important to us. For more information about the Quilt, go to: www.aidsquilt.org.

Tim Warner, my beloved life partner, was a man full of fun-loving energy. He was the Southeast Michigan Regional Director for Consumer's Power Co., and gave of his time and energy serving the city council, public schools, recycling committee, and beautification commission for Ferndale, Michigan, served as a mentor to students in the Detroit public schools, and served as a volunteer with several AIDS organizations in the Detroit area. Tim was a spouse, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and he exuded warmth and love to everyone he met. He loved gardening, playing the piano, crossword puzzles, and stargazing during camping trips. I designed the panel with the help of two friends, Cheryl and Colleen. Our cat Spike died 1 month later, and Spike is also in the panel.

One by one, all the media stars that the MSM has pushed on the American public all these years, have failed us and shown themselves wanting (i.e., to be total a**holes.) I'm at the point where I don't trust any media star.

After canceling cable TV, I've been hanging on Christian radio, TV and conservative net sites for my news.

Well I think our suspiscions are confirmed about just how devoted to liberty these liberal pinheads are. Keillor for his part is boring old wind bag. I find his radio program drier than a good Sherry. Hey Keillor move to Canada!

I am so tired of them castigating evangelical Christians for the results of the election. The "moral" vote was only a small part. I think they keep harping on this "straw man" to draw attention away from their own failed attempts to appeal to the average American.

Hitler used the Jews as his "enemy." Now it appears the far left are using "Conservative Evangelical Christians."

My wife Ann has been a listener of his for a couple decades. When we heard the report she brought up his monologue online. It was way too much. She wrote him announcing he has lost her.

Keillor, host of the popular National Public Radio show "A Prairie Home Companion"

Popular!? Yeah, right. I imagine there are conveniently no Arbitron figures to back up this contention. Popular amongst left wing media boobs maybe, but no one else.

------------------Time for research------------------

I looked it up on Google and found this in a press release:

Arbitron estimates that "A Prairie Home Companion" has 4.1 million listeners.

This is probably cumulative, like, over the life of the show.

I actually had a liberal friend say something very similar like that to me. I just laughed and said I just love it when the left shows their fascist side She was very taken aback by this but after some thought she agreed it was "a little fascist" but "something really had to be done about the problem of the religious right." I told her freedom of speech was for everyone not just the people she agreed with. She said I was giving her a headache and there had to be a right wing trick somewhere in what I was saying but she just couldn't figure it out right now. I told her it was no trick just that pesky little thing called the Bill of Rights and maybe she should reread it before deciding who may or may not voice an opinion.

That PBS is partially funded by taxpayers makes this especially irksome.

The thing is, if the Left simply refrained from using the judiciary to impose on the entire nation what they can only win democratically in a few states then the passions of religious conservatives would no be so inflamed.

Thought I'd do a pre-emptive ping before you ping me.

And yes, I my dad and I still love A Prairie Home Companion, and I really hope we always do. ;~D

Part of what is funny about people are the things they think aren't funny.

This is quite a way from Washington and Adams writing that representative government requires that citizens have some belief in God or a god for it to work. If Gary were smart, he'd make use of the fact that the prospect of a divine judgement makes people more moral and hence, better citizens. But Gary isn't smart about politics.

It's worth noting that he came out of a very religious, Plymouth Brethren background and has been in rebellion against it his whole life long. That's sort of the hidden shadow of his life. He's gone to great lengths to get away from his actual roots, and it's natural that he gets very neurotic about any perceived threat to the world and identity that he has created for oneself.
