Is there anyone else out there besides me that would STILL like Kerry to answer and be accountable to all these questions? Just because his presidential candidacy is over does not mean he is not still personnally responsible.

There are millions of vets who agree with you, including me. However, "Vengence is mine sayeth the Lord" and all sensible voters agreed on November 2, 2004.

Kerry is all the more exposed because he refused to admit the truth, he didn't receive an honorable discharge until his pal Peanuts Carter was elected.

I was thinking about it, too.

According to what some would refer to as the legacy of the American military, there is a stark difference between the American fighting man and their counterpart in other parts of the world.

In the realm of tradition and reality, it is probably fair to say that most who served did so selflessly to ensure a better life for the Americans that followed. Just as all the fighting men who served couldn’t be generals, obviously, all were not heroes, but the great American Dream was heavily laden through the years with an abundance of heroes, compared to those with a lesser degree of courage.

Nevertheless, even those who might have been dubbed as rogues, in most instances, shared a common bond that galvanized them as a most formidable force to stand against those adversaries that threatened liberty. An even smaller number would be listed in the history books as traitors, while some others would embellish their feats to garnish false adulation to enable themselves to appear as larger than life. Fortuitously, most of the imposters were at one time or another exposed.

Another of the great threads that continue to bond the American Armed Forces is their faith in God and their willingness to express that faith vocally and without shame. Only recently have the secularists attempted to overshadow belief in God. The ill-gotten crusade to eliminate Christianity as a spoken word seems to have gotten its biggest and most vocal thrust from the ACLU, ironically founded by a man, Roger Baldwin, subsequent to his imprisonment for refusing to serve in the military during World War I. Although he supposedly claimed to not be a Communist, the purpose of the ACLU, according to its founder was Communism.

Thankfully there is another characteristic of the American fighting man that sets them apart, It is the internal unexplainable quest to maintain the honor of one’s family name. It is similar to what is common in the United States Marine Corps. No one wants to be the first Marine to run, so he stays at the front with the others as the Marines have done for nearly two hundred and thirty years. No Marine wants to dishonor the Corps, nor his family name.

Obviously, when one’s honor is at stake, it is the paramount duty of a man to defend his honor or consequently, it will remain tarnished. Senator John Forbes Kerry falls into this category and only Senator Kerry can save his honor.

He can continue to remain in an uncertain category, strung out between heroes and rogues or worse or he can act boldly and finally set the record straight. Accusations against him include self inflicted wounds, leaving the scene of an ongoing battle and a less than honorable discharge. The truth remains locked up in Kerry’s military records. He has stated that all his records have been released, which was debunked by Kerry, himself on Meet The Press.

Unless, Senator Kerry rallies the courage to release his records, his family name will never be untarnished. He continues to maintain that the Swift Boat Vets and the POWs have not told the truth, but most importantly, it does not seem plausible that more than two hundred decorated heroes could all be lying, just to destroy one man’s reputation. However, it is plausible that they took action to help preserve the legacy of liberty for which they fought to preserve for posterity.

Senator Kerry claimed that his mother’s last words to him were: “Integrity. Integrity. Integrity.” Now it is still uncertain whether or not her advice will be followed. But it is certain that a man of integrity would surely be anxious to disprove the accusations and restore integrity to his family name. Otherwise, the doubts will remain as indelible stains, seen by most as self-inflicted.

In the meantime, it appears as if the Swift Boat Vets and the POWs will have no difficulty keeping their honor clean.
