SEATTLE -- Got the blue-state blues? Rudi Kischer feels your pain. The immigration lawyer in Vancouver, British Columbia, plans seminars in three US cities -- Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles -- to tell Americans frustrated with President Bush's reelection that the grass is greener north of the border. And that is not an allusion to Canada's more-lenient marijuana laws.
"We started last year getting a lot of calls from Americans dissatisfied with the way the country is going," Kischer said. "Then after the election, it's been crazy up here. The Canadian immigration website had 115,000 hits the day after the election, from the US alone. We usually only get 20,000 hits."

Canada suddenly has utopian appeal for many left-leaning Americans. Its universal health care, gay rights, abortion rights, gun-control laws, drug laws, opposition to the Iraq war, ban on capital punishment, and ethnic diversity mirror many values of the American left. Immigrants, including an estimated 1 million Americans, make up nearly 20 percent of Canada's population. The United Nations named Toronto the world's most multicultural city.

Not nearly as much as we urge them to make the move.
Yep. And Stephen Harper and all the conservatives in Canada can move here.
Hey, a leftist I could support!
let em go. And then build a long, tall fence.
Canada, France, New Zealand, Australia, EU, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Zimbabwe where-ever they feel more comfortable
If liberals go to Canada, the average IQ of both countries will increase.
We'll help them pack.
Good riddance. During and after the Revolutionary War, Tories moved and were moved north for our betterment and for their miserable preservation. If these dirt bags think Canada has more liberty than this country, they need make haste and get themselves there.
I don't think NZ wants 'em. But nonetheless, go, by all means go!
Freedom to a conservative is the liberty to live your own life while freedom to a leftist is the freedom to not to live your own life because the government will take care of you.
It's more like he smells your money
"Bring us your fired, your poorly educated, your befuddled masses, yearning to live for free on somebody's couch, and we will make a great nation of losers and disaffecteds, forever whining and bitching and moaning about some other place they'll want to immigrate to in short order."
(US political immigrants must pay "progressive" tax at border).
dang I gotta get in on this gravy train while its hot. I have a canadian friend who prefers to live here. But I'm sure she wouldn't mind putting on seminars for $30 or so a head.... give out some forms you can get for free, and talk about life in canada.... hmmm....
Take off, eh!
and with no gates.
They said the same thing about registering all the stoners and slackers.
Yeah, huge groundswell there.
"Hey dude, wanna go vote?" Nah, the lines too long, and this cool show is coming on MTV, and hey! Pass me that pipe!"

Liberals: big on talk, small on action.
I wish the liberals WOULD finally do what they say they'll do. But moving North requires effort, and unless the government provides it, for free, then they'll take a pass.
Hell, I'll help them pack and everything!
