Howard Dean: Bush Appealed To Homophobia, Sexism, Racism & Falwell Not A Decent Person

Howard Dean speaking at Northwestern University:
..""The truth is the president of the United States used the same device that Slobodan Milosevic used in Serbia. When you appeal to homophobia, when you appeal to sexism, when you appeal to racism, that is extraordinarily damaging to the country. . . . I know George Bush. I served with him for six years . He's not a homophobe. He's not a racist. He's not a sexist. In some ways, what he did was worse
because he knew better."
About Rev. Jerry Falwell, Dena said: "Most Americans are decent people -- not all. I mean, there are those hate-mongers. I wouldn't call Jerry Falwell a decent person."

Please, please, please, please, please, Democrats, pick Howard Dean to be chairman of the DNC.

Vt. has a republican governor and a republican controlled state govt. Native Vermonters must think Dean is an embarrassment.

"..PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Place this goof in charge of the DNC. He is the only person I can see who would be better for the GOP than that punk McAwful..."
What a wonderful idea. That's one way of ensuring future elections for the GOP.

"do not underestimate this man's destructive potential." My view, and the view of others posting here, is that if he heads the DNC he will probably do far more harm to the Democrats than to the Republicans. In that respect, I certainly do not underestimate his destructive potential. In fact, I would hope for it to manifest itself greatly.

"...Where are the grown-ups in this party..."
I don't think there are any left. After Zell Miller retires, the Dem party of old is gone. It's now in the hands of the far left wing....and they're dooming themselves to perpetual minority status.

Liberals is Christophobic!

Dean is a definite embarrassment. But we Californians refuse to let Vermont be alone, as we keep re-electing our own spectacular embarrassments to send back to Washington D.C.

i understand the immediate theme of this discussion. my posts reflect my preoccupation with the long term. the more influence this man gets, the more damage he will do. if he ever gets real power, which he may amass as he gains influence -- it will be a nightmare.
it doesn't matter to him if the democrat party is wrecked in the process, so long as he can cultivate and grow that base of followers which he had early on.
I'm telling you, this guy is trouble and will be until he's put in his place.

The last time we had separated America, we had the Civil War. I that what they want?? I thought they were anti=war.

how many time was he sued for malpractice I wonder?

I'm not disagreeing with you. Yes he is trouble. What helps us though is that he can only stay calm for just so long, then he literally blows a gasket and melts down. And the public distrusts people who can't stay calm and rational. Nonetheless, he genuinely can cause the Republicans a lot of trouble, and depending on circumstances, he has as good a chance as any other Democrat of eventually winning the endorsement for Presidential Candidate in 2008.

Perfect! To properly marginalize themselves, all they need is MM on his side. The good news just keeps coming.

Howard Dean, a reputed abortionist, is a poor person to be giving his opinion on anything. He collected a few nuts to give him money and now seems to think he is a genius. No way Jose.

What helps us though is that he can only stay calm for just so long, then he literally blows a gasket and melts downthis can be a comforting thought, because all that needs to be done is to keep pushing his buttons until he self-destructs. But again, if he ever gets real power... hitler was the "gasket blowing" type, too, and I don't use the analogy frivolously.
