Dutch Muslims Dismayed by Anti-Islamic Backlash THE HAGUE (Reuters) - Selami Aydin's words will comfort many Dutch people if opinion polls are to be believed. "I'm thinking of going back to Turkey. Seriously," the 39-year-old Muslim said just a few hundred meters (yards) from the apartment police stormed last Wednesday after a 14-hour siege with suspected Islamic militants. "We're all frightened." The Netherlands' image as the land of tolerance has been shattered in the two weeks since outspoken filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered and a Muslim suspect arrested in the crime. Since Van Gogh's death on Nov. 2 there have been at least 20 arson attacks on mosques and churches in tit for tat violence. A Muslim school was damaged by a bomb on Monday, another set ablaze on Tuesday. There have been a number of minor arson attacks on churches and a classroom at a Catholic school in Eindhoven was destroyed by fire on Wednesday. In the latest suspected arson attack on Saturday, a small mosque in the south was destroyed by fire.

I have faith in the Dutch people. They are known as very tolerant but their royal crest doesn't say "Je Maintiendrai" (I WILL MAINTAIN) for nothing. They were able to fight off the Spanish for 80 years and have been a country for almost twice as long as we have... It would be unwise for muslims to underestimate the wrath of a patient people.
Maybe they just need a little more motivational assistance.
I would think that only if the attack was against them. Maybe that would wake them up and they'd realize that some of their fellow Muslims are evil.

One murder in Holland and they are outraged and considering series measures. WE put up with 25 years of attacks since Iran/komeini, then wake up after 3000 of us went down and STILL 48% support a yellow dog like Kerry!
One more attack on our soil or on our interests anywhere and I figure we will make the Dutch look soft.....

I'd love to believe that, but that same 48% and the ACLU will prevent that from happening. Have had this discussion before and have to believe that several attacks in "Liberal Land" is what it will take to get the pacifist liberals attention enough to take some SERIOUS action. It's sad, but that seems like the only way at this point.

You say "WE" in your statement, but there are many people that would have loved to have done much more than we have done. Like I said in my previous post, we will lose our patience and PC mentality at some point after the the luney liberals get attacked on a large scale.

I think that the Dutch reaction to Van Gogh's murder may be another "shot heard 'round the world". (figurative sense) Not just against radical Islam but also Political Correctness.
I think a majority of US (the American population) has been so cowered by PCism, that we're afraid to openly question the loyalty of Muslims that live here, say, in Dearborn, Michigan. As someone else said ealier, you wouldn't have seen "US out of Muslim lands!" signs 20 years ago. What has happened?!?!
Political correctness= Suicide. I will not sacrifice my child, my family, or myself to avoid offending a particular group. Too bad people here have been so paralyzed by this new "religion", that they're afraid to voice concerns, afraid of being labeled a "racist" for doing so.
