I wonder what ran it into the ground? I doubt that it cost a boatload of money to raise mushrooms, nor were the employees getting paid $20 an hour to do it. Given that they cost about $3 a pound retail here in Alabama, I can't envision a marketwide mushroom glut. Oh well, as long as there's still some to saute with some sweet onions to top my sirloin with........WOO-HOO! *SLURP*

I am wondering that too. I think the main expense would be building a habitat, like underground tunnels, to grow them in the first place.

In any case, love 'em too, don't understand why so many people hate them!
