There have been more than 20 attacks on Muslim buildings There has been another fire in a mosque in the Netherlands, in what appeared to be the latest in a spate of attacks. Police said the mosque, in the south-eastern village of Helden near the German border, was set on fire early on Saturday.
They said it was not immediately clear if arsonists were behind the attack.
There have been more than 20 incidents of fires or vandalism at Muslim buildings since the murder of the controversial filmmaker Theo van Gogh.
His suspected killer, an alleged Muslim radical of Dutch-Moroccan nationality, was arrested.
Tensions are running high in the Netherlands since the killing.
There have also been a string of retaliatory attacks on Christian churches.
Parliament has been debating how to deal with the growing problem.
There have been calls from some right-wing politicians to deport radical Muslim clerics and close down mosques where they operate.
MPs have asked the government to draft new legislation forcing Dutch mosques to employ only Imams who have studied Islamic religion in the Netherlands, a proposal that is widely supported.
One thing we do know-- They're consistent.

I travel for my job. Some of the worse snobs are the Dutch. I think Old Europe is in for a big awakening.
No popular uprising. Some small groups doing this. But there is a widespread call to stop the islamic radicals.
No one knows what will happen next. The governement arrested some radicals they were letting walk for for like 1 to 2 years but basicly they (minister of justice Donner) are asking the Dutch people to learn to live with muslims.
Everytime things go too far the pendulum swings back with destructive force. The Dutch were too liberal and now they are paying the price.
Holland will be an instructive case to watch. We in America can learn from this and hopefully prevent a backlash if other cultures demand too many changes too fast.
Good point! I'm actually glad that the Dutch are taking a stand finally with the Islamic terrorists in their midst. Perhaps other European nations will see what's happening there and see the danger in their own backyards instead of criticising the US for dealing with terrorists.

The Muslim killer of Theo van Gogh was on welfare. Time to cut off the welfare and start deportation. The Dutch look like they are fighting back.
As one person who lives in Holland said - the Dutch have a slow fuse but they can be utterly ruthless.
Political correctness, open borders, welfare for asylum seeker (really sleeper cells), decadence, socialism and the insane drive towards secularism and abondoning Christianity has gotten them here.
Islam is totally intolerant and has been that way for 1400 years.

I'm so afraid the Dutch are going to do a 180 and go from being insanely tolerant to hatefully angry. They weren't all that nice during World War II to their minorities. Where is the saneness and moderation in Europe, anyway?
But that's just my point! Europe DOESN'T understand the danger of Islamic fundamentalism...or at least, their governments don't. If they truly did, why is America painted as the imperialist aggressor in the War on Terror and in Iraq? When we acted like victims, the Europeans loved us. When we fought back, they hated us. I didn't see the Netherlands coming to our defense in the UN.
I hope what has happened in the Netherlands will open the eyes of the Europeans to the Islamofascists that would take over their countries if they are not careful.
America (Bush) is portrayed as a "cowboy" who takes the law into his own hands and starts unjust wars...Too often Islamic fundamentalists and Christian "fundamentalists" are portrayed as equally dangerous when the facts point out the opposite. So I stand by my comment...Americans did NOT burn down mosques or take to the streets except in prayer following 9/11, so I'm tired of Europe portraying us as bigoted aggressors.
No --- the governments don't understand --- but the people seem to be starting to understand --- but while the Dutch burned down one mosque --- they're being built all over the USA --- many --- 80% -- from Saudi government money.
The Dutch need to keep fighting back and start deporting the Islamic invaders.
Islam will never be tolerant or moderate. There are some mor emoderate Islamic states but it is a backward and brutal religion. I really think it is more a cult of conquest. The Dutch voters need to send a message to the politicians that these people are NOT welcome and need to be sent back including any children born in Holland.
If the criminals in the EU or UN say a word - the Dutch need to tell them to shut the F up.
The UN has zero credibility and the EU has fostered this open borders policy that has let the Muslim invaders flood in. This is the LAST chance for Western Europe to save their civilization. The Ducth govt and other Western European govts should give their indigenous people very generous tax breaks if they have children. They need to start have 3 children per family to keep their civilization alive. Children are a good thing.
Theo's murderer was on welfare. Time for the Ducth people to demand that their politicians stop welfare for Muslims. Offer them money to leave and if they don;t go - give them a one-way ticket.
The Dutch hopefully have the messages and will keep fighting to rid their country of these invaders.

The Dutch politicians and Dutch like order. Ducth business people are among the best in the world especially in financial services and insurance.
Well you are not going to buy off or teach these invaders tolerance. The Dutch are going to need a little civil war and mass deportation to achieve order. This sex, drugs and other nonsense in Amsetrdam also needs to end.
The Dutchies need to get back to church and to having children if they want a civilization. The Dutch did not start this and they foolishly made these animals welcome in their country. They also foolishly forgot 1400 years of European history and Islam attempts to invade and take over Europe. The Dutch tamed the sea but they will not tame these animals. You cannot change Islam or Muslims.
