Ex-Adviser Reportedly Hurt Embassy Aide Kuwait Airport Incident Disputed Washington Post Staff Writers Friday, November 12, 2004;

Page A06 Robert D. Blackwill, who resigned last week as the White House's top official on Iraq policy, was recently scolded by national security adviser Condoleezza Rice after Secretary of State Colin L. Powell told her that Blackwill appeared to have verbally abused and physically hurt a female embassy staffer during a visit to Kuwait in September, administration officials said.

The incident took place as Blackwill was rushing to return home after a visit to Baghdad to join a campaign swing planned by President Bush. As six officials describe the incident, he arrived at the Air France counter at the Kuwait airport and learned he was not on the flight manifest.

Blackwill then turned in fury to an embassy secretary who had accompanied him to the airport and demanded that he be given a seat on the flight, grabbing her arm at one point, the officials said. Last week, Robert D. Blackwill resigned his post in Iraq to join a lobbying firm.

Sounds to me like he was eased out by allowing him to resign, poste haste. The Bushies are not going to let some arrogant idiot put them on the defensive with women.

ROFL! Here's the scoop:

Robert Blackwill's Habit of Full Disclosure

By Richard Leiby

Now that National Security Council aide Robert Blackwill, President Bush's point man on Iraq, is leaving behind the rigors of government service, will he finally find time to purchase curtains for his Georgetown home? His neighbors, who tell us they've seen far too much of him while he dresses, sure hope so.

"We're not prudes. We're not hung up about the human body, but it's just common politeness to not present yourself naked to other people without their permission," says Francis Brooke, who lives with his wife and three kids in a townhouse across from Blackwill's. "It's a bit much. My daughter is 8 years old."

Residents of the Cloisters development, near Georgetown University, have been getting an unfettered view of the 65-year-old Blackwill since he and his wife bought their two-story, $870,000 townhouse last fall. Blackwill, former U.S. ambassador to India, arrived at the White House in the summer of 2003 and helped establish the interim Iraqi government.

Blackwill was wrapping up work at the White House yesterday and our query about his curtainless windows was relayed to him. "We don't have any comment," an NSC spokesman said.

During a visit to Blackwill's home several months ago, Brooke says he dropped hints about the unwelcome view. There was joking in the neighborhood about the need to take up a collection for curtains.

"Perhaps it's been the pressures of the job and civil service salary that had prevented him from buying curtains," Brooke noted yesterday. "We hope he'll do better in the private sector."

From what I've read about Condi (who's 5' 9", has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is an outstanding athlete) she has no patience at all with a**holes and can bust chops with the very best. My bet is she made him cry.
