Did the writer really go there, or just make it up?

I ask because its not the Snopes trial its the Scopes Trial.

Yes, the writer really went there. (It's me.) And I Googled the trial to check the spelling on Bryan's name. But I got Faulkner on the brain and typed Snopes, rather than Scopes.

Sorry 'bout that.
