I think someone "slipped" him something. Mossad? It was reght before the elction here in the US and perhaps the USA was just making sure things would be "set up" for the next administration. Also perhaps the USA and Mossad knew that confiing this old devil to Ramalla for a couple of years would hasten his faling health. I just find it so conveniant that he died right after the elction. Its the kind of feeling I had when Reagan was just elected and they "suddenly" released the hostages.

What I find terribly upsetting: he hadn't been with his wife for 4 years. Yet, this wife of his was receiving over $1 hundred thousand some dollars a MONTH to live on.
Some say she is the one that wouldn't allow him to be declared dead, until she got her footing squarely on the money she had coming in. That to me is a sin. Where the heck did all that money come from? And they say Arafat is or was worth BILLIONS.
