The liberal media loses its power
Canada Free Press ^ | November 11, 2004 | Klaus Rohrich

The recent presidential elections in the U.S. demonstrated that the so-called mainstream media is beginning to lose its grip on the political landscape. George Bush won by what could easily be described as a rout of the Democrats, despite the many efforts of the liberals’ oligopoly to shape the election’s outcome. It’s about time.

For four decades news media like CBS and its print counterpart, The New York Times, Washington Post, et al have shaped the political dialogue in the United States and have had way too much influence on the outcome of elections. Whenever a conservative president was elected, the media rationalized the election with references to "stolen elections" and an electorate that was being led down the garden path. . . . .

I would disagree that "the liberal media is loosing it's power."

Rush Limbaugh just quoted a number of media, cbs, cnn and the rest regarding an obvious DNC talking point about Abu Ghrab.

Guess who else got quoted about the same DNC talking point FNC's very own Shepard Smith.

And your contention is the media is loosing power, makes me wonder.

I have my doubts. Liberalism may change its stripes but not its nature. Mr. Rather's "cigarette soldier" will likely return home only to find that he's lost his medical coverage, etc.

Even though they are losing their influence it doesn't stop them from blatently trying harder.

They're still the dominant disease in the body politic.

The medicines to treat the symptoms have gotten a little more efficacious, that's all.

Nice photo there Grampa Dave! I disagree because ABC's Sunday morning show with Georgie Steponallofus has softened a bit recently. I click that show on for about 15 minutes occasionaly. But I have not watched ABC nightly news for many years with what's-his-name(?) in the lead role; is it Jennings? I would have put ABC at the bottom of the list and SeeBS at the top. I keep my television turned off most of the day and never watch SeeBS for anything. Mostly, I watch only movie videos and DVD's and read books daily while listening to my stereo. Oh, well . . . I am not much of a marketing target for anybody these days anyway.

I have never watched Georgie so light in his Loafers on ABC.

I don't watch the evening not news hours and the weekend Screaming Lefty Heads.

Whenever a conservative president was elected, the media rationalized the election with references to "stolen elections" and an electorate that was being led down the garden path.

This is happening right now. It doesn't matter if they can't prove it, just by making the allegations taints the elections.

FNC has lots of liberals and like old Shep most are easy to spot. I'd like to see Shep go along with BOR and E D Hill for starters.

With the advent of the Internet and talk radio, liberals more and more are finding themselves exposed for what they really are: intolerant, closed-minded poseurs who are unable to countenance not having their way.

I've enjoyed watching the meltdowns of those who believe they are our intellectual and moral superiors. It's so sweet.

Most recently the mainstream media has taken to calling the electorate "stupid" and "morons", in an effort to rationalize the Democrats’ loss. It’s interesting to note that Liberals find it so important to blame losses at the ballot box on everyone but themselves. It appears that they cannot wrap their heads around the concept of having their ideas rejected, when after all, they are so superior, progressive and intellectually advanced, steeped in tolerance and understanding and committed to resolving conflict with words, not guns.

I'm not as optimistic as Klaus towards the media but he hits the nail on the head here.

I would disagree that "the liberal media is loosing it's power."

The media is still, and will always, be big time biased. The difference is that their bias is almost immediately being pointed out by the new media so that their influence to brainwash has and will continue to wane.

They are loosing their power to influence and at the same time they are continuing their wicked ways.
