Carter is so out of touch with reality.  It's almost beyond comprehension how someone could be so dilusional.

Jimmy Strikes Again  (barf alert)

MIAMI (AFP) - Former US President Jimmy Carter called Yasser Arafat (news - web sites) "a powerful human symbol and forceful advocate" who united Palestinians in their pursuit of a homeland.

Arafat did unit his people.  He united them behind a plan that ensured they would not become a sovereign state until after his selfish power grabbing terroristic life had wasted away.  Millions of those who adored him the most, lived lives crippled by nothing more than his own vile nature.

"Yasser Arafat's death marks the end of an era and will no doubt be painfully felt by Palestinians throughout the Middle East and elsewhere in the world," Carter said.

Well Jimmy, if you consider a possible chance at real peace something to be 'painful' then your astute analysis will have been right on.  You speack of Palestinians elsewhere in the world, outside the middle-east.  Have you noticed they aren't headed back to the West Bank and Gaza?  I"m sure you think that's because of the pain they are fealing living in the western world.  Hmmm, West Bank vs Western World, I"m sure you'd pick the West Bank right Jimma.

"He was the father of the modern Palestinian nationalist movement. A powerful human symbol and forceful advocate, Palestinians united behind him in their pursuit of a homeland," he said in a statement distributed by his Atlanta, Georgia-based Carter Center.

This is a rehash of the first sentence.  Yes Jimma, there isn't much to say about a man of Arafat's nature.  Two sentences and you're back to repeating the same old falsehoods.  Nice one.

You wish to portray Arafat as the 'father of the modern Palestinian nationalist movement', but you know in your heart as well as anyone does, it's more accurate that he was the 'grim reaper of the hate Israel movement'.  Noting more, nothing less!  He was a powerful symbol of what not to do if you truly love your people and want to advance them.  Yes the Palestinians did unite behind him, to their utter destruction.  So maniacal were these people, that they would strap bombs to their children and send them off to explode.  May the blessings of Alah be upon them.  LMAO

He said that while Arafat provided "indispensable leadership to a revolutionary movement" and played a key role in forging a peace agreement with Israel in 1993, he was excluded from negotiations in recent years.

He provided 'indispensable leadership to a revolting movement'.  He was a key player in accepting some modicum of normalcy between the two states, but the idea he forged it is ludacrist.  He was excluded from negotiations for the simple reason that when negotiations showed promise, that's when he would back away and resort to heightened levels of mahem and mass murder.  Negotiate with this devil's spawn?  LOL Carter, you've totally wigged out.

"My hope is that an emerging Palestinian leadership can benefit from Arafat's experiences, be welcomed to the peace process by (Israeli) Prime Minister (Ariel) Sharon and (US) President (George W.) Bush, and be successful in helping to forge a Palestinian state living in harmony with their Israeli neighbors," Carter said.

Oh I think even the Palestinian people have learned the lesson of Arafat.  Whatever he did, don't do the same things!  Now there's a legacy.  As for peace between Israel and the Palestinians and world leaders being successful with regard to peace, that will happen with the new set of leaders just as it did with Arafat.  If they are earnest about their desires for peace, there will be peace.  If not, no peace.  Arafat could have had peace 56 years ago.

Both Carter and Arafat are Nobel peace prize laureates.

Both Carter and Arafat should return the medals.  Have the last four years tought us nothing about Arafat/Carter policy?

Arafat, who died at a Paris hospital early Thursday, was to be buried at his West Bank headquarters after a military funeral ceremony in Cairo Friday.

What a legacy.  Youn can't even lie in state in the territory you governed, because you persued death and destruction over peace.  Damn, it must be time for another Nobel Peace prize for Yasser.
Carter "will not be attending the funeral," said Jon Moor, a Carter Center spokesman.

Not because he didn't want to, but because he was told 'no way!'  Excellent!  Thank you President Bush!

So, let's get this straight.

Arafat is finally meeting a Jew he can't terrorize!
