Good Evening troops!! Good Evening everyone! This is just a quick flyby post, no time for a humor attempt.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to all our military service men and women, both past and present.
Special thanks go to my relatives: My Dad (who will never see this post because he never checks his comments) who served in the Navy during Grenada, My Cousin who got out of the Air Force a couple years ago, My Uncle who served in the Marines during Vietnam, My Other Uncle who served in the Navy, My Grandpa (no longer living) who served in the Marines during WWII and actually saw the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima, and various other relatives whom I don't know who served during WWII (probably no longer living) and the Civil War (definitely no longer living).
Special thanks also go to our active military personel stationed both overseas and at home right now. I'm sure I speak for my entire Sea Cadet Unit (Iwo Jima LHD-7 Division; see profile page for details) when I say that we all give you a big HOORAH!!!!! for your service along with THANK YOU!!!!
Hi, Minor!
That is really a cool post & a big "THANK YOU" for your service Minor!!!
I forgot a relative. Special thanks also go to my bubblehead (submariner) great-uncle whom I've never met, but my grandparents refer to as "The Chief", who was (You guessed it!) a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.
...Special thanks go to my relatives: My Dad (who will never see this post because he never checks his comments)...
Check them more often than you might think...
Minor doesn't mention the fact that the reason she had no time to post last night is that she and her sea cadet unit were attending a local Veteran's Day Function. In dungarees. They didn't get to pass in front of the reviewing stand, get applause, wave flags. They were there as a working party to load the trucks (yes, plural) with the results of the food drive for the local NG unit.
So Minor thanked all the members of her family who served, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who make it possible, my wife, my children, and all the family members of those serving or who have served. You're doing the work behind the scenes that make it possible and you don't get the recognition that you deserve. You make us proud!
