Marines of the 1st Division use a bolt cutter to take of the handcuffs of an Iraqi, at a makeshift military hospital in Fallujah, Iraq (news - web sites), Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004. The Iraqi whose name was not released, was found handcuffed in an insurgent hiding place in Fallujah, after being kidnapped 10 days ago in Baghdad's suburb of Abu Ghraib. The Marines believe he was used as a human shield. (AP Photo/Anja Niedringhaus)

Good news UPDATE on the Hague story I posted earlier, slightly off subject but related to the overall WOT:

THE HAGUE, Netherlands Nov 10, 2004 — Police raided a house in The Hague on Wednesday, ending a 15-hour standoff in which one suspect and three officers were wounded, authorities said. Two suspected terrorists were arrested in the raid and a third was detained in another city.

There were several people in the house, and I heard a man yelling, 'I'll chop your head off' and yelling profanities," she said.

Tensions have been high in the Netherlands since Van Gogh's murder in Amsterdam eight days ago, with more than a dozen arson attacks against churches and mosques. An Islamic school in Eindhoven was bombed Monday night, and another in Uden was burned down Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

Six suspects, believed to be members of a radical Islamic terrorist group, are in police custody in connection with the Van Gogh murder, including the alleged killer, 26-year-old Mohammed Bouyeri, who holds dual Dutch and Moroccan citizenship.
